Dealing Cousins

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Dealing Cousins

Postby Underachiever » Mon Oct 16, 2017 12:39 pm

I don't put much stock into a Qb in a 1 QB league such as this, but Ill ask the question anyway.

12 team PPR

Cousins or Chris Thompson

My new Qb would be either Palmer or McCown (which is why I am concerned)

My other RBs are Hyde/Blount/Ellington/Riddick (which is why I want a RB)

Is the QB drop off worth the RB Upgrade?

I think I'd roll with Cousins for now. You can upgrade at RB later.
Kittles Pox | Championships: 2015, 2017
12-Team PPR | QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DST
QB: Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers
RB: Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, James Conner, Phillip Lindsay, Tevin Coleman, Boston Scott, Benny Snell Jr.
WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

You can replace Cousins with Thompson and RB with QB, and this would still be true. I would think QBs are more easily replaceable in a 1QB league than RBs in most leagues. With that said, I think this is a fair deal and would go with whichever position you think would benefit/hurt more from this.

I get what you're saying, but my assessment is that Cousins finishes the season as a QB1 whereas Thompson does not continue his current pace of insane YAC.

I can see that. I'm not the biggest Thompson believer and not sure he keeps it up either. That's why I say go with team need, but agreed that Cousins probably will have more long-term value.

Plus Thompson is due for an injury based on past history.

Cousins is worth much more than Thompson
