Time to move Gronk?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Time to move Gronk?

Postby darkadun » Sun Oct 15, 2017 1:01 pm

So, I made a post in the main forum few weeks back as I was freaking out going 0-3 despite having a good team. You can see in my sig, I have what I consider to be a a good team if not really good team. So... I calmed down and thought things would turn around. Well, Im likely going to be 1-5 today as each week something goes wrong, and the team I face has monster performances.

This leaves me wondering if I should trade Gronk. He's the piece I'm likely to get the most for (not trading Bell, Nuk, M. Thomas), especially after having a monster game already today. I'm not keen to trade him, he's one of my favorite players. But I This could be the window to trade him.

So at 1-5 with my team would you move Gronk? If so, what would you look to get for my team?
QB: Lamar Jackson, Matthew Stafford
RB: Dalvin Cook, D'Andre Swift, Chris Carson , Jerrick McKinnon, Alexander Mattisson
WR: DeAndre Hopkins, Michael Thomas, Adam Thielen, Will Fuller, Darius Slayton, Brandon Aiyuk, Keelan Cole,
TE: Evan Ingram, Drew Sample, Cole Kmet

With Ingram and Brate you can afford to move Gronk for either picks or a second RB upgrade. My thought would be looking for a mid to early 1st or more for Gronk. Even at 1-5 it looks like this team could be competitive this season.

Thats what Im thinking. If I can get a good RB2, I could still have a good year.

You need to upgrade at QB and get a 2nd RB, I would try first to move brate with the TD streak he is on. Package some guys and try with that first. Gronk gives you a positional advantage at TE over everyone else. He should last longer than most RB's too. I think you have just had some rough matchups and the record reflects it. I would hold him.........this is from another gronk owner. Be patient

Trying to sell him myself. Tough to get proper value for Gronk, but if you can get a haul, go for it imo

Move brate AND gronk, try and target Ertz but the owner has probably caught on he will be a stud.

I traded gronk away for pick 1.01 before the draft which I felt was a bit overkill but man has Fournette panned out. I'd look to move gronk and maybe another piece for a solid RB. Target teams in your league who are strong at RB/weak at TE and throw out some offers

I'm currently thinking about trading him too, I'm worried about his injury history

Feeling your pain: 1-5 (team 1) after this week too. Lost last 3 weeks to the 1 or 1 of 2 owners that scored more than my team. Makes me leery to send Gronk away but with Engram and Kelce, feeling like it's worth trying. Have you managed to trade him yet?

hard to value him with his injury history and what not...but he's a stud, won't hurt to just keep him if you can't get what u want. don't ever settle.

No not yet, likely put out some feelers today. I still have a chance to win this week, depending on what happens tonight. I’m leery too, he’s such a beast... but if I can set myself up for next year and make my team more balanced this year, its probably worth it.
