Which TE to pickup? ASJ, Kittle, Dickson

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which TE to pickup? ASJ, Kittle, Dickson

Postby Lesman » Tue Oct 10, 2017 7:26 am

I've got one waiver pick to spend on a TE, and while ASJ was going to be the obvious pick, Kittle & Dickson have also caught my eye.

I realize Dickson is only a one year option, but Jordon Reed struggles to stay healthy for me, so that is not a bad thing for me right now.

I really don't know much about Kittle, other than that his metrics look promising and the opportunity is there. Is there more dynasty upside here than ASJ?

I'd love to pickup 2 of thee guys, but can only afford to pickup one.

WR: AJ Brown, ARSB, G Wilson, London, Pickens, Bateman, Mims
TE: Njoku, Kmet

Dickson is likely less than a one year option, as Greg Olsen is expected to come back at some point this season. ASJ is the easy choice IMO.

ASJ this week and season. I do like Kittle long term though as well as ASJ (who is still young)

Dickson shouldn't be in the conversation. If you are ok with the previous boneheaded off-the-field moves of ASJ, then he is your pick. If not, go Kittle.

I meant to post this under Team Advice board. Admins, feel free to move it if necessary.

I'm leaning hard on ASJ, but just want to make sure I'm not missing some obvious future stud value in Kittle.

It does seem like ASJ is seizing his new opportunity. I picked him up in multiple leagues as well.

I've always liked ASJ but would also not fault anyone for selecting Kittle based on his age. If Dickson caught your eye then Mercedes Lewis probably did a couple weeks ago as well. Let someone else waste their time.

ASJ for me. He's the safest of the bunch. Dickson wouldn't even be an option. I like Kittle for dynasty, but wouldn't expect consistent numbers from him this year.

I'm a Kittle fan and would probably grab him over ASJ ..

this would not be easy to do because ASJ does have a connection with McCown (TB), last week was vs CLE, who have been tremendously aggressive with the front 7 (LBs close to the line of scrimmage) and playing their Safeties deep, Peppers is like lining up 25 yards from the LOS .. crazy, the entire middle of the field has been open in CLE and looks like it will be all year ..

I dunno, maybe its my I avoid all Jets at all costs, but I'd rather go with Kittle as a future piece of that Shanahan's offense .. I already made many moves at the start of the season to get him on my rosters, some at pretty good cost.

ASJ with the life changes he made the past year getting sober and losing the weight. Plus if it takes 3 yrs for TEs to figure it out, he's pretty much there already. I like his short term and long term outlook.

I do like Kittle but I think his stats were mostly on that final drive. It's going to be a roller coaster for awhile with more lows than highs.

Whatever gets him cweds, have no idea what your League does with FAAB .. certainly differs from League to League, also dunno how your TE waiver looks like either .. some Leagues, there is absolutely no one, maybe just a Sprinkle (heh) ..

You could supplement Ebron with picking up Fells for the short term and maybe grab Roberts long term, something has to give in DET at TE, that offense is too good not to be invested in them at TE ..

I actually played Fells in a few DFS line-ups last W5, because of the targets I saw him get in W4 .. he paid off for a 2500 player :P

Dickson is last on this list short-term and long-term.

Kittle long-term, ASJ short-term. But, they're close enough long-term that, if you need TE production now, you can safely go with ASJ and not worry that you blew your long-term play for a temporary fix.
