Buying Ertz

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Buying Ertz

Postby fakespike13 » Mon Sep 25, 2017 12:38 am

I think my team is championship caliber (1 year of a teardown rebuild, no less) but I am hurting badly at TE (and QB). Ertz owner wont contend and could probably be sold on the idea of a big haul of draft picks. My team wont draft high, so the pick will lose value as this season goes on. What is Ertz's value in purely draft picks? The owner also has Prescott, who could give me a better option at qb. He also has Snead who'd I'd like on my team. Would my entire '18 & '19 drafts (rounds 1-4) be a fair trade for Ertz, Prescott, Snead? See team in sig. for how this trade would fill team out.

alternatively, could I try to get Ertz for a 1st rd pick + Tyrell Williams before his value goes down further?

is prescott too low to shoot for if im trying to build a juggernaut?

I have Ertz & Snead, and had Prescott until draft night. If I was offered a full set of 18 & 19 picks for those pieces i would snap accept. I would try starting with a little bit of a lower offer first.

I would actually decline that pretty easily. The fact that it's a 16-team league simultaneously devalues your late picks and boosts the value of starting QBs. Then there's the fact that the pieces you're asking for are all talented young players that you'd want to rebuild around, rather than trade away for a couple (presumably) late 1sts and a handful of dart throws over the next two years.

If your goal is to win this year, I would go after some cheaper, older options like Witten or Walker at TE, Brees or Big Ben at QB and Fitz or Crabtree at WR.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert

Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits

WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

I'd try to do a deal around Cam before sending all those picks. I think your team is good for a 16 teamer but I'd be a little hesitant about your WR depth. If Hill or Diggs goes down I just don't know if Tyrell is enough to bring home a title. If you dropped all the picks and didn't win you'd probably be regretting it.
