In a TE pickle...

So, my worst fear has come true. Reed has started the year with multiple injuries. A broken toe and a chest injury. Two things I don’t see him overcoming, playing through for long.

I need to make a move to acquire a streaming TE for when Reed is inevitably on the sideline, again!

I’d like to hear some ideas on who to pursue and what to offer. I don’t necessarily need a top end TE, but definitely need something better then Dwayne and Everett as a starting replacement when Reed is out.

My initial thought was to go after Witten for a 3rd round pick and potentially an add on, but the owner over values all the time making it extremely hard to trade with and, to make things worse, is a Cowboys fan.

Yeah, the Gronk owner has multiple TEs. Gronk, Fleener, Delanie, and Hooper.

I offered him my 2nd round and Dwayne for Delanie and he turned it down. I asked him what he would want instead for Delanie and he went silent.

ASJ is still free in some leagues. Ben Watson? Unless you're going after a Gronk or Kelce, it's generally a crapshoot after the top 5 or so...

what if you throw in prosise? i don't think you will ever start him (or at least feel comfortable doing so)
do you think the owner of rudolph, engram, doyle or clay?
could try shaheen (or everett, but game already played), prosise and 2nd or 3rd .... depending on the player you are going after, i would assume engram would be most expensive

ASJ is still free in some leagues. Ben Watson? Unless you're going after a Gronk or Kelce, it's generally a crapshoot after the top 5 or so...

I agree with ASJ or watson, at least to get you by this week. What about V. Davis? You can also try Dickson, Zack ,Miller as well.

I had some terrible luck when I went to claim these guys off the waivers. The day I went to pickup ASJ, an hour before he was taken. Same happened with Dickson. And an owner paid a good bit to get Watson off the waivers.

The only starting TEs left on the waivers is Ryan Griffin and the Cinici backups. I think I’m going to try my luck with a 3rd for Witten or Vernon.

I’d gladly give up Prosise. The only issue is this league never trades. We started in 2015 and this year is the first year anyone traded which was right before our rookie draft. During the season it’s like crickets.

Griffin isn't a bad choice as the only healthy TE in Houston.

i would start there....don't be afraid to throw in a player...one of your lower RBs (prosise would probably be my choice since you own all the NYG RBs)

Luke Wilson may be on waivers. Harris from the chiefs. Maxx williams, cook or walford. .. if you can't find a deal that you like.

I tried. I offered Dwayne and my 2nd for Delanie (the owner has Gronk). Thought I was overpaying for sure, but I guess not in his eyes. His team is pretty bad. He starts 2-3 TEs a week. That’s why I though he’d want the 2nd to help rebuild and get insurance with Dwayne if Gronk were to go down.

I could try for Clay. This owner only has him and Julius, so not sure I’d be able to work something out with him.

I’ll try and upload a snapshot of all of the teams in the league so that everyone can see all the teams. There’s 3 teams that have too many TEs (lower end teams) and the powerhouse teams are left with 1 good TE bc of this. And yet, those lower end teams don’t try and trade one of their many TEs to better their teams (just to give perspective of how no trades really happen in this league).
