Trade Advice- RB Needed- Pay up or shop Bargains

Postby bftv2003 » Fri Sep 22, 2017 8:47 pm

Team 3 in Sig. WR's are as good as I could ask for and rest of team is pretty solid but RB's as you can see are baad. I traded for Terrence West and Julius Thomas for low 2nd in preseason and Tyler Boyd for Woodhead the day before he went down. I lost Spencer Ware right away and now my lowly 2 options T West and Rob Kelley are banged up. Sent D'Onta Forman with 1st, 2nd for TY after week 1 and right now am starting Rob Kelley and Jamaal Williams..

Anyways- do I look to move Amari Cooper, Michael Thomas, or TY for an elite RB(like everyone's dying to trade those)? Or look to move Parker, Doctson, Bryant or less for a Chris Carson, Isaiah Crowell etc? I've been approached Carson and Chris Johnson together but don't really want to move a high ceiling Parker, Bryant for gamble and 10 week fill in.Carson looks good but I think Rawls was eased on purpose and could possibly take over at any time.

I'm 0-2 with next to no picks next year. Either way I need RB points to compete and I think I could make a good run.

Advice?

Definitely do not trade one of your big WRs. That will just circle you back to you where you started but with having lost value in the process.

Your team, as is, is good enough to competitive most weeks. I think that you're bargain-shopping for now. Only at the trade deadline should you consider a blockbuster once you know your exact needs. For now, use your non-stud prospects for productive players: remember, their still prospects.

I wouldn't mind trading Doctson for Crowell. Doctson hasn't been on the field and if you need help at RB i think that is good value

with your team, i would probably more cooper (to be fair, i am lower on him than most) for cook (or cook+, depending how your league values these players)
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

I say keep your top 4 WR. They have you set up to be competitive year after year. Depending on what you can get I would trade any of your back end WR for help because unless any of them really breaks out they will not crack your top 4. I like Bryant as your Number 5 He has at least shown he can perform in the NFL while the others still have done little to nothing.

Agree with this. If you can get a RB2 type for Doctson, you should do it.

Is Crowell really a rb2 type though? I feel like at this rate your lucky if he's even starting next year. Doctson is a good player that will get his chance. If he busts bc of injury then so be it, but you have to ride with the odds that he's going to be worth more than Crowell at some point.

Don't know if he'll be starting next year or not, but most assumed that he wouldn't be starting this year and Cleveland would be drafting a RB. As for this year, I can't think of 24 RBs that I'd take ahead of him.

Jeez, I could easily.

Gurley
Hunt
Hyde
Ty
CJA
Gillislee
Melvin Gordon
Freeman
Fournette
Cohen
Buck Allen
Cook
Lynch
Zeke
Miller
Coleman
Henry
Murray
Bell
Ajayi
DJ
Mixon

That's 22 I'd certainly take over Crowell for this year, and then you can mix Crowell into this next group somewhere if you want

Abdullah
Howard
Forte
Gore

That's 26 players you could arguably take over Crowell, plus you got your PPR backs

Kamara
Duke Johnson
Chris Thompson

And I like Foreman over Crowell long term too. That's roughly 30 players you could argue are over Crowell for just this year, not to mention long term.

I mean, we could go back and forth on this of course. My overall point remains the same, which is Crowell is UDFA trending downward on a horrific offense and you can barely trust him this year no less next year and beyond. Doctson has been suffering through injuries, yes, but he's a talented 1st round pick that will get his chance to succeed. I'm not saying you're wrong to choose Crowell over Doctson, but to me the odds are strongly in Docton's favor to be a more valuable and productive dynasty asset from this point onward. Not only that, but it just makes no sense to me to sell Doctson now when his value is at it's lowest.

You have a ton of WR depth. You can afford to move Devante or Bryant and get yourself a descent RB and still have a ton of talent at WR. Target a WR needy team and try to get one of their best RBs

A lot of reaches there. Also, you have to decide if those players are for this year or for the long-run...you can't have it both ways.

Hmmm my list is a lot shorter then that for dynasty purposes.

In no particular order: Bell, DJ, Zeke, Hyde, Gurley, Gordon, Freeman, Howard, Hunt, Henry, Cook, Mixon, Fournette, McCafferey, Ajayi and then Crowell (maybe add Montgomery in there as well). And I must say, Crowell is not in the same category as Forte and Gore. So I have him around the 16th RB
