Hyde vs Gurley

Postby UsualSuspects » Fri Sep 22, 2017 8:20 am

In the next 1-5 seasons how do they compare?
Is Hyde + late 18 1st + late 19 1st for Gurley fair value?
Too much...too little?
And does it even make sense for my team or am I needlessly trading...just to trade.
Thank you for all the advice...you guys rock!

It's probably a fair offer, but it doesn't seem particularly necessary. You already have the best dynasty RB in Bell and the best RB so far this year in Hunt. I would be looking to improve your WR situation before your RB situation. WR production will come cheaper than RB production, and it's also your biggest (and really only) weakness.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

I'm higher on both Gurley and Hyde than most. With Hyde's injury history and Gurley's huge game this is probably what it would take. But is it worth it for you team? As M-Dub mentioned you don't really need to improve at RB... Hyde had a huge game as well so you're pretty set with 3 potential RB1s each week. I'd use that draft capital to improve elsewhere.

I have Gurley over Hyde and it's not close. I don't think a late 2018 first and 2019 first will get the deal done, especially after last night. Good news is that this trade doesn't make sense for your team anyway. I would package Garcon and some picks to upgrade at WR instead.

I own both Gurley and Hyde. I'm with consensus on Gurley and higher than average on Hyde. I'd take Hyde and the two firsts.

It doesn't make sense for your team though. Wouldn't do it.

Crowder, Sterling Shepard, and Snead seem to be about the only young WR talent that would be available. All the young talented WR's are on 2 teams that desperately need RB's which I can't give them. Are any of these 3 worth a late 1st for my team? I guess I look at it as extra depth at that point. Similar to Lockett, Benjamin, Tyrell Williams.

Young talented WRs are treated like gold in almost every league. Maybe target some older guys who can still give you productive depth. Check with the owners of guys like Maclin, Crabtree, Tate and Baldwin. For cheaper options, look into Fitz, Decker, BMarsh or Ginn. You have a really strong team, so you can afford to be patient. Just let it be known to your leaguemates that you're looking to improve at WR and wait for the right deal to come along.

Finally got a chance to watch the TNF game tonight, on Gamepass. Hyde looked fantastic!

Btw, does Gurley's ball security absolutely suck or what?? He put the ball on the turf I think 4 times by my count. And he's had 3 fumbles in games 1-2 I believe. That is no good...

Traded late 2018 1st and Giovanni Bernard for Jamison Crowder. (Leaves me with 2 early 1sts next year) Might have been slight overpay for Crowder but I like my young core of WRs now. Diggs, Crowder, Lockett, Tyrell Williams, Benjamin, Samuel, and Godwin.
