OBJ and 18 2nd for Jordy and Shady?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

OBJ and 18 2nd for Jordy and Shady?

Postby jessup45 » Thu Sep 21, 2017 2:56 pm

For team two in my signature, 16 team league. I'm 0-2 and my buddy is 2-0. He's stacked at WR but has no RBs after CJ Anderson. We talked about my Jordy and Shady for his OBJ and a 2nd (probably late). We both assume that in a vacuum everyone will pick the OBJ side due to the age of the other two. That said, if you are in a win this year position, would you opt to have the two starters vs. OBJ?

On the flip side, my team on paper is by far the best in the league. Am I overreacting after an 0-2 start shipping two key pieces of my team?

Very interested in everyone's thoughts.

Josh - if you can reply to this so everyone can see your roster as well.

Yes, I’d take OBJ in win now mode.

My roster looks something like this:

QB: Rivers, Wilson
RB: CJA, Jaquizz, West, Tolbert, Burkhead, Lacy, Darkwa
WR: OBJ, Amari, Crowder, Tyreek, Arob, Meredith, Tavon
TE: Graham, Fleener

I prefer to keep OBJ, but I do think if I were to have a healthy CJA and McCoy for the whole year that I am a strong favorite to win the league.

I think me adding a 2nd is over the top, but I am interested in hearing other perspectives. Longterm I definitely lose value, but this year and next year I could certainly be net positive.

Seeing our rosters, and understanding the situations, using the core of OBJ for McCoy, Jordy what makes it an even trade?

That's a very cheap price for OBJ.

With your roster I can see your motivation for pushing for a "win now" trade, but OBJ is a pretty hefty price to pay. Have you considered offering A. Robinson and/or Meredith for Lynch or Shady?

Would it make a difference to people knowing the league champ wins about $3,500?

While they are extemely valuable for the lineup, Shady and Jordy don't carry a ton of value tradewise due to age. This would be a steal for OBJ.

I know depth is very important in large leagues but that sure does seem like a bargain on OBJ.

Knowing the rosters, situations and winnings, I am still taking OBJ here. Not saying Nelson and McCoy won't help, but with your team I would sit tight for now. Or look for cheaper options at RB like Martin or Buck Allen.
12 team PPR - QB/2RB/2WR/TE/FLEX/K/DEF

The pick should really be on the Jordy/Shady side, and it should probably be a 1st.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert

Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5

Jordy and McCoy value is going downhill in a hurry with their age. I would definitely take Odell here without a second thought.
