Trade offer for Cohen

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I would pass on that deal too. I would want more than Kelley or a 1st to move Cohen.

Keep Cohen. If we were to redraft rookies I think he would get drafted around 15-17, maybe earlier. I wouldn't trade him for equal value. 1st or bust with Cohen. Maybe with Howard's injury they'll give Cohen a bigger workload and if he continues what he's doing I think you can get a 1st for him from a team struggling at RB. Unfortunately I think I traded him away too soon. Was offered a 1st for Cohen and golden Tate and took it instantly after week 1. Thinking I could've gotten more but that's how it goes sometimes. Stick with Cohen. Unless he gets injured I only see his value increasing.

id take a 2nd easily for him. he could hang around the league like sproles has for several years, have a decent season every now and then....but i see nothing that suggests he is a bell cow or 3 down back. i like the idea of trying to package him, but im not real sure he's a guy that gets you up a tier (maybe based on your rankings). he could certainly have a nice year, and maybe thats more important when the games are actually being played...but im not real sure that increases his value at all in the big picture.

dont get me wrong, those types of guys are nice to have, but i also feel like they are a dime a dozen when it comes to rb's. there are always guys just like this every single year on the ww. this is essentially the zero rb strategy....our op has just happened to draft one or pick him up early.

just my opinion, but cohen has nowhere to go but down when it comes to value, as i just dont see many owners putting much more value to him than a 2nd.

This is not a wise statement. Trading Cohen for a middling 2nd doesn't make much sense from a quantatative standpoint at this point. You're selling a lottery ticket direct hit for another lottery ticket in roughly the same range? Sure, a lot of us got Cohen in the 3rd and even later - but pure odds of hitting on a random 2nd make this a bad type of deal to pursue for Cohen.

Obviously, you trade Cohen if you can get a first. But I think the smarter approach is akin to a lot of the deals I've seen mentioned above - to package him and a position player for an upgrade over that position player.

Trading him for Kelly - who has no draft pedigree or measurables to back him up and the coaching staff took Perine for a reason - is an exercise in dumping a rising asset for a short term sinking asset.

I do believe Cohen is a flip player (much like I argued a lot over the offseason on this forum that Howard was as well) - but he's a GOOD flip player that requires something beyond a maybe RB starter and a lottery ticket.
Let's not pretend the redskins have that much more equity in Perine than they had in Kelley this time last year. Perine was taken in the same area as McNichols. How'd that work out? Kelley isn't special but he isn't trash either, and they trust him.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I'm not looking to hold onto Cohen very long, I see his upside as a Sproles/Woodhead (injury prone and inconsistent pts.) What worries me is that he's more Bryce Brown or Jonas Gray.

x2.

Flip Cohen if you can get 80-90 cents on the dollar of his potential ceiling, but don't flip him for a low-odds lottery ticket.

With that said, an early 2018 2nd+Rob Kelly would make me think.

As someone who had Bryce in most of my leagues...I do not see a single similarity between Cohen and Brown/Gray. Sure, Cohen could fizzle out eventually, but go watch his game tape to form an opinion before you let "well four years ago I was burned by an RB by the name of Bryce Brown" affect what you do now because these are two entirely different players. That would be like someone wanting to sell Corey Davis because they swung and missed with Cordarrelle Patterson a few years ago. Evaluate the players separately.

I think a early 2nd isn't bad but there is a better deal out there. I just mad a trade where I kinda through Cohen in to spruce it up. Gave Cohen cooks and Maclin
Got Corey Davis tyler eifert and 2018 1st projected early
12 team 1 qb 2 rb 2 wr 1 te 1 flex
Qb Wilson, Bortles
Rb Howard, Kerryon Johnson, Duke Johnson, ty Montgomery
Wr Odell, Cooper, Evans, Alshon, Curtis Samuel
TE Jonnu Smith, George kittle, Vance McDonald, Eifert
