CMC vs. Henry

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

CMC vs. Henry

Postby doctor d » Wed Sep 20, 2017 7:24 pm

I was just offered McCaffrey for Henry in my startup superflex league (team 3 in sig). Given the Henry hype and the fact that he came to me, I'm thinking of countering and asking for a 1st on top or a player like Mahomes, Crowder, T. Coleman or Snead. Both me and the guy who sent me the offer are 0-2.

Is that unreasonable? Is it safe to say that Henry's value is definitely higher that CMC at this point? I'm a pretty big Henry believer and see him as a big part of my core moving forward -- I drafted with intention of getting a high pick and competing next year, mainly building around QBs.

2: 12 team PPR, 6pt all TDs, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 W/R/T

I think CMC is mid range RB2 and Danny Woodhead II. So my advice should be taken with s grain of salt. The gap to me is two first rounders.

I think you are on the right track wanting a 1st or a prospect you like on top of CMC. If it were full PPR, I would say they are even, but half PPR swings it to Henry.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Henry's value should not definitely be higher than CMCs. Henry just had his first quality game. You could definitely ask given the hype but I wouldn't add a first on top of CMC for him. My guess is given the original offer that you won't get it

1st on top of McCaffrey seems like a steep overpay.

I'd ask for a 1st as well, but doubt you get it. If you can't get anything significant on top of CMC, just keep Henry.

I love both. That being said someone came to me straight up I would decline. I would need a 1 or a player like maholmes on top. They probably won't pay but if u are a Henry believer, drafted him, waited for this moment, why sell for less? Tds wins weeks and I see Henry with 20 td potential. I like CMC but 10 touchdowns will be difficult for him and his role is less than ideal for how long?

This exactly! I also think CMC is an overrated Woodhead, and he is hardly worth owning in anything short of PPR/return leagues.

I much prefer Henry, I don't see CMC as capable of ever being a workhorse. To me at least a high first but I still probably wouldn't budge.

Ah, my bad. Talking about Derrick here.

I sent the guy an email last night saying it'd take CMC and either a 1st or Mahomes for (Derrick) Henry, and I haven't heard back. So not expecting anything to happen at this point, but as others have mentioned, I'm perfectly fine holding onto all of my Henrys for next year.

The way this league is set up, teams start accumulating points as soon as they're eliminated in the battle for pick order. Highest number of points from the time a team is eliminated gets first pick. So, in other words, if Team A is eliminated week 7, weeks 8-13 count toward that total. If Team B is eliminated week 9, weeks 10-13 count toward that total, and so on. My goal, really, is to go 0-7, get eliminated, and have my team really pick it up in the second half. This really makes Henry's situation ideal for my team. And with Woodhead returning this year, Coleman possibly returning, a bunch of young guys that I'm hoping to have a nice second half, confidence that my QBs will stop sucking so bad, and my team basically doing nothing yet, I think I have a decent shot at a top 3 pick, which would likely net me either Guice/Barkley or possibly Darnold.
