Doctson + 2018 2nd for 2018 1st

Postby Avery » Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:18 am

"Team 2" below in the middle of a rebuild.

Is selling off Doctson plus a 2018 2nd for (another) 2018 1st a strong move to get out from under him or is it selling low where I should wait as his snaps are slowing going up?

Before you ask, I have no idea where the pick will be as we have a "winner" and "looser" player bracket so it is hard to predict draft position.

Would love to hear your opinion on him. Thanks!

I moved Bilal Powell and a 2018 late 2nd for an early 2018 1st.
Seems fairly similar. Without knowing the pick placement it could be a total crapshoot though. If it turns into the first pick in the 2nd round and Doctson for the last pick in the first round then it's probably not a good trade. But it could be the opposite of that in which case it's a steal. Sorry...probably not much help. I don't thnk that Doctson and a 3rd would get it done though.

Thanks for the info.

I think the value is fairly fair for player that is hard to evaluate giving his lack of playing time thus far but I'm trying to gauge opinion on if Docton is a guy I should be holding onto in a rebuild or trying to get out from under.

It's all a gamble with him. Best case you move up 23 spots in the draft. Worst case you move up 1 spot. I am trying to buy him super cheap in my league.

Yeah. I get the gamble part a small r haven't really seen him play. Kinda like Kevin White but not as bad. Just trying to figure where people fall on the value of that gamble.

Since you're looking to acquire "super cheap" what does that mean to you in terms of cost?

I probably wouldn't make this trade. If and its a huge IF Doctson can get healthy his value will go up. I would hold a few more weeks to see where it goes. If he doesn't get healthy, I would bet this deal is still on the table. Understand I am a Doctson owner, but bias aside I would still hold for a bit.

You're probably not going to get anything better than that for him right now, so if you're set on trading him, that's not a bad deal.

Im definitely not set on trading him. Just trying to figure out the general thoughts on if I should trade him for this value.

I agree with this. There is probably more upside to keeping him than downside to having him being worth nothing.
