Veto contradicts rules

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Veto contradicts rules

Postby Weeman » Mon Sep 18, 2017 5:58 am

So my commissioner made rules stating he wouldn't veto unless gross negligence, collussion or not caring this is where people are eliminated & just accept any stupid trade.

So I was pissed our co-commissioner is tanking/rebuilding after an AR15 loss. Sold Landry to me for two firsts (yes i overpaid, they should both be late) but then sells Olsen for 2nd/cohen then cj anderson for 2nd/l.david. We just started this 12 team league those players have more value. They were 5th, 6th rd start up picks. They were sold to commissioner & his brother. This seems like a sweet-heart deal.

So anyway i know their is a Panthers homer. I ask him if he's willing to do Olsen & Austin or a peice for Gronk at work he's like yes I will do that, send. I'm like cool I'll go get him, lolol. Not realizing he was traded for nothing. Cause originally after my Landry trade it was vetoed. Commissioner said it was a three team trade involving Landry & his co-commissioner tried to sneak it through.

Anyways I get Olsen for Jmatt & marlon Mack after a day of bombarding that owner. Send the homer Olsen/Austin for Gronk. He declines sends olsen/k.williams for Gronk, I instantly accepted. trade is vetoed, I ask why co- says massively unbalanced, I'm like then tell me the difference. He says y'all figure it out, i ask commissioner he says I can't tell you. I'm like so you're only interested in telling this guy he's incompetent? He's in 7 leagues with commissioner & me 2. They argue at work, I walk away & later he was like I'll take a look at it. Then says he doesn't want to & changed his mind.

Saturday me & comm. text argued now Olsen is out. & I'm telling the commissioner who wrote the rules in are other leagues & I work with. Sunday I see Olsen in crutches & now I'm done with both leagues because I've seen no collussion, gross negligence or not caring. Co was like if he wants the trade he would send it again. He obviously doesn't want to now that he's been influenced. But do owners get that opportunity? Obviously Olsen Sunday got hurt & I'm more screwed. Because I never wanted him or would've traded for him unless I had a trade in place for Gronk. The other owner felt Olsen & Gronk were top 5 & interchangeable despite their age. I had Jimmy G so it is evident I didn't need Olsen.

I should quit both leagues??? Ask them to adjust rosters or deal with it?

I agree you should quit but go down in a blaze of glory and sell all future picks for win-now pieces. If that isn't possible, then just offer stupid deals to everyone...and then quit!

Garbage league.

I would never play in a league like that. Any veto that does not involve collusion is wrong.

Stop wasting your time and find an actual league.

I used to be in the only Veto for collusion camp, but examples here have put me in the also veto for disgustingly gross negligence

That trade is a solid win for Gronk reciever, but nothing horrible. Especially with comish not stating how off the value is and telling you to add a pick.

Co-comissioner vetoing trades? Hell no. That league sounds not fun to play in. Leave. Tank the team with no future picks if you want to get petty revenge. I'm not above that

So I tried to go out in the blaze of Glory.

Trade Elliot
Team 1 gives 1st & woodhead
--- the co-commissioner vetoed!!!

Okay co-commissioner sends instantly
Give: Elliot
Recieve: a 1st, 2-2nds & Prosise

Regular commissioner vetos. I proved my point. Their was another stupid trade with another team in their too. Commissioner locks me team from making trades. Texts me to take the L and move on. I tell him to keep the money & that I proved my point!

Should've known there would be trouble when the league appointed co-commissioners. If one dude can't keep things straight, how is another voice going to make it more clear? 2 out of 12 owners having final say over decisions seems like a massive conflict of interest.
