New to Dynasty - Trade Advice

Postby amy » Wed Sep 13, 2017 9:15 am

Hi everyone. First post here. First year playing dynasty. I could use some advice on possible trade offers I should make.

League: 12 team, PPR, normal point settings other than 0.1/1 yard for player for return yards, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex, 1 DST. No kicker. Deep benches plus taxi so waivers are pretty barren.

My team:

QB: Stafford, Hoyer
RB: Zeke, Cohen, Ameer, Kamara, Richard, Charles Sims, Gio Bernard, Tyler Ervin (Spencer Ware on IR)
WR: Brandin Cooks, Sammy Watkins, Corey Coleman, Corey Davis, Sterling Shepard, Moncrief, Doctson, JuJu, Mike Williams, Ryan Switzer (Sharpe on IR)
TE: OJ Howard, Seth Devalve
DST: Houston
Taxi: Mahomes, Gallman, Darboh, Chad Hansen, Chad Williams

Questions:
1) I feel like I'm not going to win this year, so I need to focus more on getting better for next year. Am I off-base here?
2) What do you see as my top priority? Get a better QB? Get a better TE? Upgrade at WR or RB?
3) Someone has asked me about a RB for TE trade. He's interested in Cohen or Kamara. He has Rudolph, Charles Clay, Tyler Eifert, Jesse James, and Rico Gathers. Is Rudolph for Cohen or Kamara a good trade? If not, are any of those TEs worth looking at for Cohen or Kamara?
4) Another owner offered me Amari Cooper for my Sammy Watkins + Ameer. That felt like too much, so I tried to get him to take Gio instead of Ameer and he said no. Do you see a good offer from my players for Amari? Should I have taken his trade offer?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice! Look forward to learning from all of you.

If you want to try to compete this year, a TE upgrade is probably a good idea. I would probably try to trade Cohen for Eifert after Cohen had a good week and Eifert had a bad week. QB situation is fine. More importantly, I would EASILY make that trade for Amari Cooper. I would make that offer back to the other owner for sure.

I'll say no on Rudolph for Cohen or kamara. I think zeke kamara in the future sounds nice.

Try to get a serviceable RB back in that cooper deal. Watkins is watkins, but always hurt and Cooper is going to be nasty. Not a big fan of ameer, so if I could get another RB with upside in return,I'd do it.

All in all I'd still take the cooper.
10 Team .5 PPR 1QB
QB,RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, W/R/T, W/R/T

QB: Herbert, Rodgers, Kyler, Watson, Howell
RB: Bijan, Achane, Barkley, Allgeier, Breida, Gainwell, Strong, Tucker
WR: AJB, Adams, Wilson, Hill, Higgins, Reed, JSN,, T. Marshall, Boutte, Arob, Ross
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Waller, Bellinger

No 24 or 25 picks other than 4th and 5th each year.

First off, welcome to the site!

1. I agree, unfortunately you will miss the playoffs this year.

2. You're good in the QB and WR department. RB is definitely your weak spot. I wouldn't worry about TE until you can compete. Howard should emerge by that time. The focus should be on obtaining 2018 draft picks or young RB prospects. Landing a top RB in the 2018 draft is a must.

3. Cohen for Eifert/Rudolph is great value. You might have to add. I wouldn't trade Kamara.

4. This is an easy accept. Trading Ameer will also get you less points this year and get a better pick next year.

QB - J. Hurts, M. Stafford, K. Cousins
RB - S. Barkley, D. Cook, E. Elliot, T. Pollard, A. Mattison
WR - D. Adams, DK Metcalf, A. Cooper, C. Ridley, R. Anderson, C. Davis, J. Jones
TE - M. Andrews, G. Kittle, M. Cox

Quite agree to this. Really get back to the Cooper owner if he still wants that trade.. sure, ameer could deliver... sure, watkins could stay healthy.. sure, cooper could be injured at some point aswell.. but.. well, really prefer the odds with him.

I agree strongly with 1, 2, and 4. I'd actually hang on to Cohen.

Amy - go get cooper NOW.. not later. If he wants Ameer + Watkins to do it, fine. Just make sure to get it done

If you can get someone like Rudolph or Eifert for Cohen, I'd EASILY make that trade as I am not valuing Cohen any higher than a 3rd round rookie pick. Not a chance a 3rd buys you TEs at that level.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Definitely sell Cohen (not Kamara) for Rudolph or Eifert. If you can still get Cooper for Abdullah and Watkins, do it.

HOLD Cohen! Getting his return yards will payoff big time. That Cooper trade looks pretty sweet thou.

That's the whole reason I picked him up off the waiver wire last week - I went through a list of all returners, and picked up the one I liked best. I won with a $0 bid. He feels like found money!

Everyone, thanks for the input. I have a lot to consider, and apparently need to get in touch with the Amari owner ASAP!

dont listen to the dude who said you will miss playoffs, you have a very good team and i have seen the worst of teams get hot and hit a lucky streak and win it all.

i would make a trade for a TE to help now but do not part with OJ, try to add rudolph or eifert for cohen if possible.

i would also look to move kamara and a WR to get another higher workload RB. after zeke you have some good rbs that are question marks so some stability and knowing your rb will get 15+ touches a week would make you more competetive.

GOOD LUCK!
