A.Rob for Cook?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

A.Rob for Cook?

Postby WhiskeyRacer » Wed Sep 13, 2017 8:08 am

Hey all,

Let me just preface that I'm a Viking homer and have my purple shades on after Cook lit it up on his first pro game Monday night. Been watching him for a while and got him in at 1.03 in my rooking/FA draft this year, but I would have taken him 1.01 if I had that pick.

For the team in sig, I got offered Allen Robinson and a 2018 4th for my Dalvin Cook...

I'm just looking for some opinions on this offer after the big week 1 changes: A.Rob tore up his knee and Cook looked like a stud on a team that was surprisingly good on their home opener.

Thanks,
10-team .5PPR SF 4 point passing TD
Start: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1FLEX, 1SFLEX

QB - Jackson, Herbert

WR - Waddle, Collins, Reed, Evans, Hyatt
TE - Andrews, Engram, McBride

I think Cook looked good as well but he was facing the Saints. I think this is a fair trade BUT with your team in sig, I'd hold Cook. You need RB help way more than WR help

This one's tough for me as I've been high on both of them for a long time. I think your team needs Cook a lot more right now, but I usually tend to go with the WR when I value two players evenly (a week ago, I would have gone Arob easily).

I would say go for it, but that would essentially strip away your only young RB. Due to that I would not make the trade.

Thanks,
Regardless of team makeup, you should be able to net a whole lot more for DC at this moment in time. He has the makings of a first or second round startup pick next year while Arob seems to be falling into obscurity. He will be a FA in the offseason, and will need to rehab, and learn a new offense, etc. It's not out of the question for Arob to return some value, but your asking price should be much higher when trying to move a dynamite young piece like DC.

Keep Cook. Another game like his first will see his value skyrocket above the current Arob value. That being said, I am a huge fan of buying up injured studs if I'm not a top 3/4 team. Depends where you think you're at.

I wouldn't even consider this trade if you're a true Viking fan, especially with your RBs.

HA! This is pretty much what I thought when I received the offer, but thinking about the what-ifs was getting to me a bit. Glad to see that it doesn't look like I have my blinders on and can't see "value" with the A Rob offer.

I like A. Rob but you have to account for an entire year of production lost in this trade. I think people tend to look too far out in dynasty as looking more than 2 to 3 years has too many factors to predict.

Given that window you're be getting no production for 33% - 50% of that window.

Keep Cook.
