Bell for Cooper

Postby theintercept » Tue Aug 22, 2017 10:41 am

Trying to decide on a big move for me. After analysis, I have my team ranked at #7 of 10 in the league for this coming season. As seen by team in Sig, I'm trying to get younger and deeper (i.e. adams, ajayi, hill, juju, williams, howard, etc). I was offered to receive Amari Cooper for my Leveon Bell straight up.

The owner trying to acquire Bell is poised for a deep run with Brown, OBJ, Cooper, Diggs, and Marshall at WR. His RB is extremely thin with Abdullah, C Thompson, Charles, Foreman, Hightower, and Mack (hence why he wants Bell).

I'm thinking of asking for an add to Cooper for Bell, but even if that's appropriate I'm not sure what to ask for.

Thanks for the advice.

I think straight up is worth it for your team, but I would either ask for an 18 2nd in return, or add an 18 2nd to your end for his 18 first and sell that his will be late and yours will be early

I would want at least a first added to Cooper for Bell, and that's still really light and would likely pass.

Bell is a game changer while Cooper has just been a pretty good player at this point. He'll likely get better, but I like proven production. Get a decent player added or an early first, or just keep Bell.

I definitely wouldn't trade straight up. I would ask for a 2018 first added as well. I might send a third back.

No way I would do this straight up. Lev Bell is arguably the best RB in the league. Cooper is a GOOD receiver. There's a significant gap there that needs filled. I agree with the consensus, at least get a 1st added but I don't think I would move Bell for Cooper and a 1st still.

I wouldn't do it for the addition of a first unless it was guaranteed top 3.

Bell gives you a positional advantage of RB (along of David Johnson) that Cooper does not give you at WR. Cooper is a very good WR but he isn't top tier yet. Bell is one of the two best at the position. I'd want very good candy in addition to Cooper to make the trade.

That's a low offer for Bell, Cooper is good but Bell is great. He's going to have to add to Cooper otherwise hold Bell.

Piling on...
If you HAVE to trade for Cooper...
I would want a first and a second added on their side minimum.

But...
Does the rest of your league know you're trading Bell? You can do much better at WR than Cooper for Bell. Shop around and let it be known to the the other teams with elite young WR assets that Bell is available.

I own Cooper and if I could acquire Bell straight up for him I'd be doing back flips....then I'd be in traction. But I'd add a first to the Cooper side easily.

Even if you get his 1st it'll be a late 1st. I wouldn't trade Bell for anything less than Cooper and a 1st that is likely a top 4. Late 1st in my opinion are too much of a gamble to pan out to give up one of the few true studs in the RB market, you can hang onto Bell to see if your team develops, or still trade him for probably the same value in a year or two when you know what your current picks/young players look like.

Sounds good, thanks everyone. I've been shopping him around but I just get stupid, low ball offers from everyone. This has been the first one to come to my inbox that has even sparked my interest.
