picking 3rd tomorrow: Davis or CMC?

Postby WindyCityFlyer » Fri Aug 18, 2017 9:41 pm

top 2 picks will be LF and Mixon most likely.

the league scores q.b scoring very high..but in the end it's still only a start 1 q.b. we also start 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, and 2 flex. standard ppr scoring, no return.

as you can see, I need rb help moreso than wr as I work towards completing my rebuild. but should I pass on Davis for CMC, who I really like and fits a need?

some background:
1. RBs are really tough to come by. I was recently able to trade my Mark Ingram for Kelce. makes CMC make.more sense
2. QBs are my weakness but I won't overpay to fix at this point. last offer I got was 1.3 and Michael thomas for Matty ice. I rejected. but I might well struggle competing this year given my throwers.
3. one idea I had was to draft Davis but try to trade for Foreman to back up my Miller ( recently traded 1.5 and Treadwell for Miller, future first, and Kevin white). my only pick in the draft is 1.3.

thanks so so much for any thoughts .

I voted Cook, but could see CMC as well. Personal preference here. Both should be heavily involved. Your wrs seem good, but you could use some rb help.

I'm going rb with your roster. One other outside the box options is to take Davis roll with your roster for the year and then put Julio on the block and he haul he can bring in with the youth on your roster your going to set yourself up for years.

I'm in the same exact boat as you are. I'm picking 3rd in our rookie/fa draft where we have 6 keepers. I'm in good shape at wr (obj, green, Jeffery) but short on RB's (Crowell and that's it). I'm hoping Mixon slides to me at 1.3 but if he doesn't may have to take mccaffery and watch Davis slide to 4. Not what I want to do but probably what I need to do.

I voted Cook.

I like him over CMC by a lot. I think the offense will run through Cook, added bonus of a lot of dump offs. With Cam in charge at Carolina, I don't see CMC having as big of an impact as Cook.

guys...

I ended up going CMC. thanks to this thread, I made that decision with at least having considered a lot of elements I perhaps otherwise wouldn't have pondered.

cook looks awesome. a great get for any of us, and he ended up going at 1.5 right before Kareem hunt. obviously Davis went 1.4.

I went with CMC for a few reasons.

Having watched his plays this preseason, I honestly found him a bit more electric and even polished than Cook. Collegiately...they are some similar in how and how much they produced. That coupled with Christians pedigree both in the draft and his family (we all love it) and his fumbling vs cooks fumbling...I just had to go with my gut. I maybe shouldn't have traded 1.5 for Miller and that future first...but I just couldn't turn down the value..

anyway, I hate to be the guy who asks for advice and seemingly goes against it...but it was a process for me and I thank you for joining me on the decision. Hope the thread and poll help others going forward as well.
