4th pick in rookie draft question

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

4th pick in rookie draft question

Postby Dwstull81 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:53 pm

I have 4th pick in a upcoming rookie draft. I need a running back.I think Fournette, Mccafrey, and Mixon will go in the top 3. Is 4 too high for Kareem Hunt? Or Cook is that much higher in him that he should just be the pick. I have seen hunt go as high as 6.

if you want to take hunt then trade down to 1.6 or 1.7, 1.4 is too high. I would take Davis at that point

At 4 with those players off the board I'd say the lock is Davis. If you don't want Davis, try to trade back. And if you can't trade back, then take Cook.

Why not just take Davis if that scenario plays out? He'd be great value at 4, if you don't want him you can trade him for a better back than Hunt+. Is this non-PPR?

There is no way you should take Hunt over Cook. It's not even close. I'd still draft Davis over Cook though. I never draft for need, always draft BPA.

x2 on the fix. You have to take Davis if he falls to 4 I think. If you want Cook, try to trade back to 5 and get something extra - I would imagine you could do that, since Davis is more like the 1.01 or 1.02 in most drafts. Hunt isn't even in consideration in the top 5.

Assuming picking there your rebuilding, I'd take either Cook or Davis, whichever fills the bigger team need. Too high for Hunt.

Try to trade back a spot if the guy at 5 wants Davis, and you would rather have a running back. You might be able to get something nice, and still take Cook.

I got Cook at 1.05, and couldn't be happier. Don't overthink this.

I know Davis is probably the safer long term play, but unfortunately in the three rookie drafts I have been in he went #5 in all of them. Cook actually went #2 in two of them. But regardless my experience has been the top 4 rbs (in some order) tend to go first in most non-expert rookie drafts. I tried very hard to trade back but with zero luck. & right now with all the rb hype... In my leagues at least you couldn't trade Davis for any of those top 4 rbs. Just my two cents & I personally have Cook as the #2 rookie (Foenette/Cook/Mixon/Mccaffrey/Davis... next tier) with Hunt being firmly in the next tier lower.

If you're not sold on Cook how about trading up instead of back, what does your roster look like?
