Made 2 trades the past 2 days. Thoughts?

Made a couple trades for team in Sig.
First trade:

Received:
Taywan Taylor
2018 2nd (probably between 30-40)

2nd trade needed a second Tight end after trading my back up tight end.

Got:
Cameron Brate

All the guys I traded I grabbed off waivers this off season. Trading McFadden hurts for first 6 weeks but probably would have cut him after.

I'm the Zeke owner. So hated trading DMV for that reason but figured value was too good.

I can see an argument for both sides. The first one is basically ASJ for Taylor. The 2nd is more like a 4th rounder with the number of teams in the league. I don't expect much from Taylor anytime soon and think ASJ is a nice sleeper this year.

Given that you're the Zeke owner, I would've just held off on both of these trades. They're not bad returns, but could've been better served for your team with another direction. ASJ is getting a lot of hype and all signs are pointing to him breaking out finally. The 2nd is meh with this many teams. Brate has Howard to compete with and will have a limited ceiling going forward and you're not going to use him much anyway with Ebron. McFadden could have 6 weeks of RB1 numbers in Zeke's absence. In a 20 team league, that's huge especially with your RB group, unless you're planning on punting this year.

The ASJ trade I did because I've heard great things about Taylor in camp. With having Mariota as my QB if Taylor turns out to be a decent receiver than it helps my team. While I have heard good things about ASJ I figured Taylor and a 2nd helped my team more. Decker is only on a 1 year deal and the reports for Taylor are good. So he could help if someone is injured or should help by next year at the latest.

As far as trading McFadden I debated on that one. In the end I figured McFadden is more of a 6 game guy. If I can get a startable back up tight end that has chemistry with Winston for a 6 game guy it helps my team more. Yea both of these hurt short term and Brate isn't a great long term back up. But he's better than trotting out Lewis if something happens to Ebron or for his bye week.
