Trade for A.B.

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for A.B.

Postby Kelldon » Tue Aug 15, 2017 5:54 pm

Thinking about offering A. Rob, Moncrief, and 1.9 for A.B., 3.2. Is that too much, not enough, or fair?

Solid opening offer. Not sure it gets done but it's good. Depending if owner is rebuilding or not he might take it

As a AB owner I wouldn't even consider that unless it's a top 3 pick and nothing else going back except AB.

What I am hearing from these responses makes me think AB trades are going to be very rare at this point. A top-3 pick, top 15 startup player and a good WR prospect is a very competitive offer for a receiver turning 30 soon. AB can help you win the league this year, but if Ben decides to retire next year, his value will plummet...sharply. Last year Big Ben was out for 4 games. Over that stretch, AB posted a line of 17/235/0. Over a full season, thats a line of 68/940/?.

Im not saying he isnt maybe the best WR in football today. But this is dynasty and things can change drastically from year to year. I wouldnt offer much more than what OP has already offered. maybe add a 2nd, or another prospect.

Very well said! AB is solid and is obviously worth a lot especially if you're a contender. But at almost 30, his downturn is imminent. Don't overpay for AB unless he more or less guarantees you a VERY good shot at a title this year and next.
