Lacy, Lacy, Lacy???

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Lacy, Lacy, Lacy???

Postby joekuhns11 » Tue Aug 15, 2017 4:30 am

I give Lacy
I get 2.03 & (2) 2018 2nds

That leaves me with DJ and Gurley in a start 2rb league with a flex option for a 3rd rb

I'm not a believer in Lacy. But giving him up would leave you super thin at RB. You'd be scraping the bottom of the barrel on bye weeks and be done if an injury were to occur. Unless your league requires rosters to be at a certain number before the draft, allowing for a lot of FAs to be drafted, I wouldn't do this.

I don't think Lacy starts, at least to the injuries hit SEA like they seem to every year at RB. It's a good return but you should feel out cost and potential for a 3rd RB while you're considering this offer. You may even want to shop Lacy in a RB swap; more than a few on the forum believe he's making his return to form this year.

I would keep him for that offer. See what he does...... He seems to have motivation problems, but with the move hopefully he steps up.

I'd pass on that, agree with looking for a rb swap, maybe the rawls owner has a rb to swap?

It's not bad value, but hurts your team this year.

Agree with all the above. I would hold. You can always sell him later. His stock probably will not go down that much but it could go up a lot....but I would not count on it.

What?? Am I reading this correctly? You give Lacy and get 2017 2.03 + 2018 2nd + 2018 2nd? I value Lacy as a late 1st or early 2nd, so this is an instant accept for me.

I would do this deal. Sure, it leaves you thin at RB but you should also be able to pick up a RB at 2.03. I'm not high on Lacy at all, anyone that needs paid extra money just to make weight and be in shape sounds unmotivated enough for me to pass on him. Players like D'onte Foreman, Marlon Mack, and Joe Williams should be there for you at 2.03 if you like them. Also, Samaje Perine has dropped to 2.5 and 2.6 in 2 of my rookie drafts so far. There's plenty of talent that you can pick up that is not 27 and injury prone at that pick. Plus you also get 2 more 2018 2nds next year for a player you would only play in case of an injury or bye week.

Going against the consensus but this is an easy accept for me.

Lacy has been a dissapointment for what, 3 years in a row now? Three 2nd's is an easy accept, especially with one being 2.3.

Opinions on this board are going to be wide and varied much like with Lynch - who is getting drafted as early as 1.07 in rookie drafts that incorporate free agents. Lacy is a better option than Lynch. This really comes down to your opinion of what Lacy will do going forward. At the end of 2014, he looked like he'd be a stud for years. 2015 was a disappointment. He was performing just fine to start the 2016 year despite the weight issues and getting limited touches until he was injured and missed the rest of the season. Had that not happened, no one would care who Ty Montgomery was and Lacy would likely still been in Green Bay. 360 rushing yards thru 5 games...rough math puts him at 1100-1200 yards on the year - the same as he had the first two seasons of his career. Now he's on a team that is more committed to the run than the pass. It is quite reasonable to expect 1300-1400 total yards this season as the featured back in Seattle.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Lacy here very easy! He's slimmed down and playing for Pete Carroll who runs more than any coach! I think he has a career year!

I accepted, got Mack at 2.03, then James White for depth. With another trade I made I now have 3 2nds, 3 3rds next year.

I can see the hesitation to make the deal based on what you have left, but I think this is good value and would take it. Worry about getting more RB tomorrow.
