Watkins to Rams -> Dynasty impact?

Postby smoppelpoppel » Fri Aug 11, 2017 10:15 am

Hi all,

was holding on to Sammy so far, think he could be a real asset for my team the dynasty years to come. How is his value affected by the trade to Rams? What's your take?

Cheers

Now he is going to be mired in one of the worst offenses in the league. Very disappointed.

His immediate value will take a hit as you won't be able to trade him for very much now but I do think that he'll still have a wr1 season thanks to the upgrade in offensive coaches in la

I think his value stays about the same. The Rams needed a #1 WR and he helps Goff. Watkins health is still and will always be the biggest factor of his value.

Same. Bills haven't had a passing attack in 20+ years.

McVay will get the best out of him, regardless of QB play.

Watkins' value definitely takes a hit, but we'll see. Hopefully Goff can take a step forward this season.

I think it takes a bit to get it together, but I think he's in a much better situation. All the WR's in LA can finally get back to being WR2's and WR4's cause they have a real #1. The TE duo i think it pretty good, improved line = the running game should be ok. If Goff can't get it rolling this year I'm not sure he ever will. Good young group to grow with McVay

it remains to be seen though if they actually will be one of the worst. Goff should be better, the oline should be better and a top 4 wrs list of sammy, cupp, woods and tavon is wayyu better than last year, they still have Gurley oh and no big deal but Jeff Fischer is gone... their offense should be improved.

At first glance it's awful. But when you take the time to consider the Rams have a new staff and better offensive coaches than the Bills, it's not the much of a hit. Might even be better (if healthy) because you'd expect him to get fed a ton. Add on to the fact that it could also be a one year rental and things are looking up. Definitely looking to buy at a discount where I don't have him. Especially if he's on a contending team.

I think his "value" is about the same, my concern as an owner is that the Bills traded him in the first place, which is a pretty big red flag.

I personally dont think Watkins was happy in Buffalo and will thrive in a Bigger market like LA. Gone are the cold weather games which anyone whose played outdoor sports can attest lead to more injury issues.

I see the big winner in this trade to be Todd Gurley. Gone are the days that you can stack the box on him with no talent at WR. Im holding him and expecting an increase in targets, albeit a decrease in targets over 20 yards.

Unhappy in a city with some of the most devoted fans to their team OR a city that has lost their teams numerous times because the "fan base" would rather be on the beach than in the stadium? Or do you mean because the off field options are better?

I like it.
1. I love the upgrade to a more offensive minded coach
2. Goff was terrible last year, but hes still young so there is hope. Not like the bills have shown to be very confidently committed to Tyrod going forward
3. Love him moving from the cold to LA.
4. Ownership trading him isn't concerning at all, they never draft him in the first place.
