Zeke/Evans or DJ/Julio

Postby Martpe » Thu Aug 10, 2017 5:19 am

As stated in the subject for team in sig, I am in a blockbuster dialogue. Deal as it looks now:

Give: DJ, Julio, 2018 1st (guess late)
Get: Zeke, Evans, Dion Lewis and Gio

Would you do this? Tricky part is that the other part in the deal will most likely use the 1st to upgrade his RB and thus have a really strong team...
Upside for me is that I get a better age balance without loosing much production...

Julio = Evans

I'll take DJ, Julio, and the 1st.

As such I agree with the "in a vacuum" assessment, but with me team in mind would you do it different? As it looks now, I see a rebuild post the 18 season. This might be different by taking the deal

That first puts it over the top, it's too much.

DJ and Julio will likely outscore Zeke and Evans this year, and possibly even the next. You're overpaying for youth, that's not wise. Just keep what you have or drop the 1st and Dion/Gio

Going for the championship, I will take the DJ side. But if not, I like the Zeke side...but like others say..without the first.

zeke/evans is very close to DJ/Julio. I'd take the zeke pairing if there was nothing else added. the first makes me lean towards the Julio side...

Swap out Edelman for the 1st and I'd do it; they could even keep Gio/Lewis at that point. I like the move in general, just think the 1st is too big and would prefer to jettison the aging Edelman...I'd personally look to sell both T West and B Powell after a couple big games for all you can get as I don't see them having staying power; call it a minor rebuild.

All that said, if you can't manage to remove the 2018 1st from the deal, I think you could do much better selling DJ and Julio separately

1st makes it tough but Zeke/Evans.

DJ's Cardinals team could be in the dumpster as soon as next year (No Palmer or Fitz), meanwhile Zeke is on an ascending Cowboys team.

Evans/Julio is more of a push, with youth Evan's only plus. He'll also underperform this year with all the new weapons in Tampa.

I like the suggestions of taking out the first but I'm guessing that's a deal breaker. If the first is going to be late, I'd still pull the trigger on this and take the Zeke side.

I have zeke > DJ.

Not based on this year, but based on Zeke has a more visable future with qb and line figured out.. I'm VERY nervous that when Palmer leaves DJ loses enough value to fall down to Gordon/Howard level, but thats me being bold.. I do believe it though lol!

EDIT:
Also have
Julio + 2018 = Evans

Would take Zeke side pretty easily if this was in my inbox..

DJ/Julio and the free 1st for me.
I see the big 4 pieces as personal preference/even. And Gio plus Dion do nothing for me in this big of a trade.
