Allen or ASJ
How much value does Allen have right now? ASJ is on waivers and i keep hearing about how great how looks at camp. Should i drop Allen for ASJ.

Re: Allen or ASJ
Nvm, just saw that you have Allen under TE. So obviously you mean Dwayne Allen. Duh.. lol
I would probably stick with Allen. He had a solid year last year while splitting snaps. He could finish top ten this year if Luck is healthy (not likely, but it could happen)

Re: Allen or ASJ
Jets haven't been a heavy TE usage team; however, with what's been happening on that team he could be used more. Dwayne Allen can benefit heavily if Gronk gets injured and having Brady at the reign. But you already hav Kelce and an up and coming Browns TE. I'd stick with Allen and see if I could flip him to Gronk's owner.
Re: Allen or ASJ
I'd expect ASJ to lead the Jets in most receiving stats this year. Allen has probably been more of a disappointment than ASJ so far in their careers.

I probably find this more amusing that I should. Maybe because I've done the same but got lucky to realize it before I hit submit.thomasscheeks wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2017 12:41 pm Just realized I was thinking of Jack Doyle..

Anyway, Jets are going to be a mess (Green is the new brown???) this year and not sure how valuable anyone will be this year.

Re: Allen or ASJ
1TE and you have Kelce? Go for ASJs upside. Jets haven't used a TE because they had Chan Gailey as their OC, and no talent at TE. At least the OC part has changed, and maybe ASJ can get back to college form. Probably not, but if that is the case you can find Allen level production off the waiver wire most of the time.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Re: Allen or ASJ
I agree with this. ASJ has been garbage his whole career so far, and he's on what is fixing to be one of the most garbage offenses in the modern history of the NFL.Hightower88 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2017 8:07 pm ASj may lead the jets in yards and TDs...but it might be 400 yards and 2 TDs. Give me a high upside Pats TE.
Re: Allen or ASJ
ASJ. Kelce is your starter and Allen has been largely disappointing. Upside higher with ASJ, but also the downside.
Bennett didn't do a huge amount last year whilst Gronk was out, and Allen is a big downgrade. ASJ potentially the only guy worth starting on the Jets roster this year

Re: Allen or ASJ
Definitely ASJ. Patriots have a million receiving options. Plus when McCown was on the Browns he made Barnidge relevant. Could see the same happening with ASJ. Doesn't matter that the Jets are garbage - they'll be down every game and McCown will be slinging it.Pet_Smith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2017 1:59 am ASJ. Re: Allen or ASJ
The Jets will be really bad. You'll see a lot of 4 and outs on offense so it won't matter who the top of the pecking order is for the first half of games. But beware of forgetting the fantasy value of garbage time receivers. If ASJ is the go-to guy when the Jets are losing by 30 he could be a sneaky value.
I think it's a fair trade and that you're gambling on ASJ actually being good and the Jets choosing to look to him in the 4th quarter, versus Gronk getting injured to make Allen fantasy relevant. Now that I type that out I'm starting to like Allen more.
