Agholor for a pick

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Agholor for a pick

Postby norcalmill » Fri Aug 04, 2017 10:36 am

Proposed to me is i gt agholor and a 5th round pick 74th for my team below...its IDP so that plays a factor in the picks

i give 3rd round pick 47th...which my the 47th pick probably about 8-10 defensive players will be chosen so offensive player wise its like the 37th pick in a rookie/FA draft.

IDK for me its a little too rich...the pick i get back will be nothing more than taking a flyer on an UDFA or filling a position of need/depth on defense.

what do you all think...
side note i am an eagles fan and am aware of Agholors descent performance so far in camp...its encouraging but the guy has been a huge bust so far.

Pass on that one! I'd maybe give a 5th to stash him, but that's about it. Some pretty good IDP should still b available with your 3rd rnd pick! 👍🏼

If you have a 5 rd rookie draft I think I'd be happy if someone gave me a 6 th rd pick for him. IMO he really has very little value currently.

thats what i felt but being an avid eagles fan and hearing some of the good things about him in camp. i wanted to bounce my thoughts on him off a more level headed audience.
but FYI talk is that he may run with the slot role...jordan mathews is a ???? at this time.

I'll pass. Agholor looks good, but the games don't count yet and he's never looked good when they have.

If you're interested in him, it wouldn't hurt to offer something like your 5th for him as mentioned above. He is getting a lot of hype, so it couldn't hurt to take a 5th round risk, especially since you're an eagles fan. Nothing's more fun than having players on your team you can always root for!

I'd also take that deal. Has been the best player in camp which doesn't mean much, but I would rather take a chance on him. Matthews also has a gimpy knee.

So the choice is get an IDP/offense lottery pick or take a chance on Agholor coming into his 3rd year (really 2nd NFL year since year 1 was Chip college offense). 47 in my IDP got you Golloday during weeks 1&2 after NFL draft. Doubt you get him there now.

Take the chance on Agholor.

i think agholor had camp buzz every season...that being said, this is his 3rd year, so perhaps with a real WR1 on the team, he will find some success...i would probably take a chance.
however, as others have stated, you should counter with the 5th round pick...

I cut Agholor prior to the rookie draft and am starting to regret that with all the buzz. He went undrafted, so I may put in a speculative waiver bid on him to start the season, but I'm tempering my expactations for now. With Alshon and Torrey Smith both on 1 year deals though, it's enticing to think about - especially with Alshon's injury history.

If you can get the other owner to come down on their offer as others are suggesting, I would do it, but passing as-is.

update. ive tried with no luck to get agholor for less. offering a 5th and then offering a 4th.
However i did get the other side to throw in KJ Wright LB seattle with Agholor for this late 3rd round pick of mine. This 3rd round pick has a chance of hitting a good player but its more of a shot in the dark. often a top end LB would even be a target with that pick so to get agholor and wright im doing it.
