Waivers - who should I go for?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Waivers - who should I go for?

Postby NFL123 » Thu Jul 27, 2017 3:32 pm

For team 1 in sig, waivers will open soon. Due to having a smaller roster through trades, I have the space to pick up 5 players, although 1 may have to be a kicker but I may leave that until start of season.

Clearly RB is my weakest position, but out of the following which 5 players should I try to claim from waivers?

QB
Kizer
Kessler

RB
DeAndre Washington
Jacquizz Rodgers
Darren McFadden
Robert Turbin
Branden Oliver
Tarik Cohen
Matt Brieda
De'Angelo Henderson

WR
Travis Benjamin
Robby Anderson
Brandon Lafell
Nelson Agholor
Leonte Carroo
Josh Reynolds
Dede Westbrook
Malachi Dupree
Marquise Goodwin

TE
Austin Seferian-Jenkins
Erik Swoope
AJ Derby
George Kittle
Baltimore's TE (Watson, Gillmore, Maxx Williams)

Its a very tough choice so thoughts would be appreciated. Tempted to go for Quizz and Turbin due to situation, as well as Washington as he will be in the mix in Oakland especially if Lynch doesnt work out.

Anderson will probably be 2nd WR with the Jets and Agoholor seems to have had a good training camp.

The TE's could all make an impact as starters but hard to tell which one.

Not sure whether I go for short team need in position of need (RB's like Rodgers or Turbin) or potential long term upside with guys like Reynolds, Anderson, Derby, Kittle Carroo, Agholor or a bit of both. I am struggling as you can probably tell!

Thanks guys

It doesn't hurt to roster any backup RB during training camp if you have the roster space.
10 team | 10 Keepers | .5 ppr | QB | RBx2 | WRx2 | RB/WR/TE | WR/TE | K | D/ST

QB: Burrow | Prescott
RB: Chubb | Dobbins | Sanders | Edwards-Helaire | Patterson | Edmonds | Henderson | Edwards | Benjamin
WR/TE: Moore | London | Kelce | Cooks | Lockett | Lazard | Parker | Jones

RB - Rodgers will be good with Martin out the beginning of the season. Henderson because nobody has the Denver Rb job sealed up. Now with Booker being out that is better for him too

WR - Benjamin because he is just an injury away from being a starter

TE - Swoope and Kittle because of the hype

Kizer (I just trust High Jackson)
D Washington (agreed that he will have role)
Reynolds (I also have talked myself into his upside)
Agoholor (I'm prob a sucker)
Any of the other RBs

In reality, I'm guessing you league mates will take a few guys from you anyways.

I would go :
RB: Jacquizz, Washington, Henderson
WR: Reynolds, Agholor
TE: ASJ
I'm not a fan of any of those RBs outside of Jacquizz and Washington, except maybe Henderson for reasons mentioned above. Looking at your QB situation in a 1 QB league, I think it's pointless going after a rookie on a improving, but still bad, team.
Team 1

Reynolds, Agholor, ASJ, Rodgers and Henderson would be my claims. You couldn't pay me to take a Baltimore TE. You could pick all of those up and still not have the starter!
