2QB start-up

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2QB start-up

Postby pierson242 » Wed Jul 26, 2017 4:49 am

12 Team 2QB IDP league. Interesting format as we are starting the inaugural startup draft, however whatever players we draft in the first two rounds will not be kept. After this year they go into a pot and we bid on them and then from then on out its full dynasty. Im considering moving my 1.09 and 2.04 for future picks and more startup picks since i cant keep these players. What would you move them for? Thanks!

Seems like it would be hard to move them for good value, since every owner will likely have the same idea. In fact, you might look into the cost of buying a few of them in order to win big this year, if owners are approaching fire-sale prices in order to get into round three.

I've actully had a few owners approach me saying they are looking to win big this year which is why I'm considering trading.

That's an interesting format. I'd be looking for future 1sts and probably a 3rd in the startup for your 1st.

Thanks Goddard that's what I was thinking. Hoping to get his 3rd 4th and 2018 1st for my 1st and 2nd but I'll settle with a 3rd 5th and 2018 1st

So all the players drafted in the first two rounds will be bid upon just once next year and then it's just like a dynasty league? Does everyone get the same amount to bid on the players? If so, I'd for sure try to move out of the first two rounds and grab some future picks and later picks and then bid on the players next year.

Yes every player rounds 1 and 2 go to auction with equal
Money for all! I successfully traded out! Might not have the best year this year but should help me set up better for the future

That's crazy. Depending on how the draft and then next year's bidding goes, you should really have a strong team knowing you'll get to keep the top guys you draft this year and can go all in on a stud or two next year. Just make sure you don't waste a draft pick and/or bidding money on slackers like AJG. :D

Sounds like you already gave your 1st and 2nd to same guy. I was going to suggest shopping them to two separate owners in order to grab 2 different 2018 1sts, but such is life.
