Trade for Martavis Bryant

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for Martavis Bryant

Postby FunctionalAlcoholic » Tue Jul 25, 2017 11:25 pm

Hello,

I've been asking the owner of Bryant what it would take to get him. He's made me a fair offer but I don't have much at RB. Format:

1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1RB/WR/TE flex
.5 PPR scoring (1pt PPT TE)

Offer is Bryant for Henry.

My roster:

RB: M. Gordon, L. Fornette, Henry, T. Coleman, J. Connor
WR: S. Watkins, A. Cooper, A. Rob, Moncrief, J. Landry, D. Adams, Doctson, Perriman, Smith-Schuster, A. Stewart, M. Jones

Obviously I have receivers but I want to try to get Bryant. He also has Powell and J. Williams, both of which interest me. I'm thinking of countering with Henry/Jones for Bryant/Powell, but I'm nervous about my lack of depth at RB.

Thanks in advance.
12-team PPR (.5, 1.0 for TE receptions)
QB: Carr, The Unfortunate Soul I Will Be Streaming
RB: Fournette, Gordon, Henry, A. Jones, M Breida, Guice, Dixon, Lindsay, J. Jackson
WR: K. Allen, D. Adams, A. Robinson, A. Cooper, JJSS, Golladay, K. Cole, J. Brown, J. Renyolds
TE: Kelce, T. Burton

I'd hold on to Henry easily. I don't trust Bryant to not get suspended again. Why do you want him anyway? You wouldn't really need him with who you have at WR and you only needing to start 2 to 3 WRs. Plus it would really hurt your RB group if you traded away one of your RBs.

I feel like that's steep for Martavis, and I'm a fairly big proponent of his and a fairly big devalue-er of RBs. Henry is equal to what, maybe the 1.05 this year? His opportunity looks really close.

Bryant still carries enough risk that I wouldn't pay that yet.

I don't think I'd be giving up Henry for Bryant, but I like the idea of going after Bryant (maybe offer Coleman and future picks?), especially with the recent news of Sammie Coates being sidelined with knee surgery.

One bad idea (trading for Bryant) followed by another. Powell should NOT be on a list of trade targets.

What's wrong with trading for Bryant? Because of the suspensions?

He's been discussed on this board ad nauseum this off season. Some believe he's cleaned up his act and are willing to deal away significant capital to obtain him. I am of the belief that he'll land himself on the "indefinite ban" list before mid season. I'm not willing to take that kind of a risk.

Makes sense. You make a solid point. He is definitely one slip up away from sipping 40s and smoking blunts with Josh Gordon.

Just stay away, especially if you think Henry for Bryant is a fair trade.

I really like Bryant, but wouldn't flip Henry for him. I'm very high on his upside in that offense. By next season hes an Rb1 for sure. I do like Bryant quite a bit though and think he could be a WR1 elsewhere down the line. He's like a poor man's Randy Moss. Grab him if you can but hold Henry.

With your WR corps, I would hold Henry. I think you need him more for depth than another WR. Especially one with the off-the-field issues Bryant has. He could easily become the next Blackmon/Gordon.

Thanks guys. Despite Ryan McDowell stating on Twitter that he'd rather have Bryant, I decided to counter with a non-RB deal. Hopefully we'll be able to work something out. Again, thanks for responding to my question.
