Last 3 years-2nd place, last place, 2nd place. How can I win year 4?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Last 3 years-2nd place, last place, 2nd place. How can I win year 4?

League Information-
12 Team Superflex (.5 PPR)
Starters - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 SuperFlex
Must have 18 spots before rookie draft (can be 15 players and 3 picks, 18 players and 0 picks, ect.)
Rookie Draft Picks- 3.4, 3.5, 3.11

Team- (18 players, need to cut to 16 before season)
QB - Ben Roethlisberger, Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith, Mike Glennon, Brian Hoyer
RB - Le'Veon Bell, Ezekiel Elliott, Eddie Lacy, Jonathan Stewart
WR - Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson, Terrelle Pryor, Jordan Matthews, Adam Thielen, Breshad Perriman
TE - Greg Olsen, Zach Ertz, Kyle Rudolph

I believe I have a good enough team to get back to the championship along with a solid future ahead. Looking at my draft picks and my current team, I believe I have 17 players that are better than what I could draft with my late picks (drop Hoyer). League is active in trades however I can't find a market for my lesser QBs despite it being superflex. I'd like to hear some suggestions how to upgrade this team before the season. I was thinking of selling off a pick for $, keeping 16 players, then picking up a K and DEF. That scenario would also need me to get rid of another player. Would love to hear everyones suggestions. Thanks!

I'd make sure you start Kirk Cousins when Big Ben is playing on the road. Maybe try to package Ben and a Jordan Mathews or Adam Thielen for a more consistent second QB option (I like Cousins as long as he is in Washington, but I'd try to upgrade there overall).

Cooper is a nice name, but isnt a week winner yet. Maybe try to move him for someone who has proven more explosive so far (arob, Watkins, Hopkins, ajg, dez (depends on how you look at him), DT, etc)

1) I'd set a goal of getting to a championship game, not winning it! :)

2) I see a very strong team on paper, but it's one that makes me nervous. Your QBs are above average, but neither is elite, and Big Ben has a noted injury history and home/road splits. You have no RB depth. You have two stud WRs and some capable players behind them, but you can't go four deep with starters at WR and have a huge leg up on lots of other teams. And having three quality TEs in this format is a major clogger.

So, I think that you need to move a TE, even if you undersell. I could also see some combo of Hoyer, Stewart, and Perriman as drops. Gotta have proven production or legit upside for a roster spot here, and they don't really qualify.

All that being said, you need to improve your #3 RB and #3 WR. I'd use any all pieces below those spots to improve there.

I'd package some of your WRs to upgrade at the position. I think that's your weakest area and could benefit from a better WR3.
