1.01 or Three 2018 1sts

Postby Needalife » Mon Jul 24, 2017 8:35 pm

In one league, I've managed to collect some extra 1sts for 2018. I've been approached by the guy with 1.01. If I had to project them, I'd say the 1sts are a 1-4 range, a 4-8 range and a 10-12 range.

Would you prefer Fournette, Davis, etc. over next year's class?

I'm not really sure which way I'd lean, but that seems like what it would cost to acquire the 1.01.

This is really hard for me to say because I'm a big fan of next years draft class but I would probably do that trade assuming it's for the team in your signature. Your team looks really good but lacks depth at rb. If you take a rb and he pans out I think you'll have to be the favorite to win this year and that's what it's all about

Pretty fair, but I would take the bird in the hand. Take Fournette.

This is not for my team in sig and is not a superflex. It's a 12 team QRWWTF format with IDPs as well so studs tend to be key to success.

I couldn't decide. This comment swayed me. If you've done your homework, take the guy you think will be a stud. You have time to gather '18 firsts again.

as you mentioned....studs are at premium. 1.1 now is a better dart throw than 3 mids later. id have no problem taking lenny or davis over 3 futures mid 1's if studs matter. if your worried about something with the pick....trade it for a proven player in that range....no use gambling here.

I'm going to go the opposite route and say gamble with the 3X 1st. I made that same move last year. In 2016 I had 3-2017 1st which turned out to be 1.01, 1.04, 1.05. Of course that is lucky but it turned into OBJ & AB & 1.09 being added to my team through multiple trades.

Rookies are a crapshoot no matter how much research/film study you do. Take three shots at the target instead of one.

I'd personally rather have both Barkley or Guice over Fournette (or any of the other rookies in this class). Having said that, there isn't a guarantee that you'll get a top three pick out of those '18 1sts, which I imagine is what it will take to land one of those guys.

I'll take the 3 1sts. You can usually get more value out of them individually than just the 1.01.

It really depends how confident you are that the 1st will be top 3 or so next year.
