Alshon vs Cooks

Postby Peteey84 » Mon Jul 24, 2017 6:39 pm

I was looking to upgrade Alshon and thought about Cooks. Would Alshon and an 18 1st (mid) be too much to offer the Cooks owner? He also has Keenan, Sammy, OBJ, and Dez. Should I try for one of the others? I should add he's interested in Alshon and Diggs from my team.

Alshon and cooks are extremely close to me. Definitely not worth the 1st.

I'm not an Alshon guy, but giving a 1st on top is probably a little steep for Cooks. Actually probably steep for any of those guys really given Alshon's current value. You aren't getting Odell for that price, but that's a given. Offer Alshon and a 2nd instead.

Alshon side. For reference, I just traded Alshon and an 18 1st for Arob.

When I read the title I assumed it was a 1 for 1 swap and thought to myself that's about even. The first makes me take Alshon side

Thanks. I was looking to get talked out of offering it and I think everyone is in agreement.

Cooks and Arob's ADP is only separated by a few spots, and in my personal hybrid rankings I have them right next to each other at 12 (Cooks) and 13 (Arob) overall. Give me Cooks here, the value on paper maybe favors the Alshon side, but Cooks is younger, less injury prone, and IMO has much higher upside than Alshon, this season and beyond. Your mid '18 1st is not an overpay. That being said, I'd try pairing Alshon with a lesser piece to start.
All my teams suck. And I'm not in your league.

I would personally pay that for Cooks, but it is an overpay on value. You should start lower.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

The most I'd move with Alshon for Cooks is a 2nd or likeable throw in player. I don't see a whole lot different other than the 3 year age difference.
