Hey guys, for team 3 in my signature, I have no RBs to speak of and my QB and TE's are not really all that special either.. I think it might be time to start a rebuild. With that said, I was going to consider moving my best asset, Mike Evans. I feel as if he is the player who can get me the most value to help jump start that rebuild. I feel like I have a nice foundation with Howard, Allen, Perriman, Zay, JuJu, Watson.. I really need long-term RBs and draft picks more than anything right now, and while having Evans is great (He is my WR1 Overall) and I think I could be better off selling him for two pieces that will really benefit my team in the future.
I had a couple players in mind that I was targeting, for example Leonard Fournette.. I'm a huge fan of his and I think he has all of the talent to be a top 5 RB in this league. I had one deal where I could give Evans for Fournette, Treadwell, and a 1st. I know, that is light. I've been in talks to possibly land Fournette and Parker for Evans, but he wants me to add another good player or pick to my side, so I dont think that's happening.
I'd really like to acquire a Zeke/Bell/DJ type of player + another WR2, but I'm probably realistically looking more at the Gurley/Gordon/Ajayi/Howard range + another good piece.
I personally value Evans around 4 firsts.
Would you guys deal Evans, and what would you expect in return? Or do I have a chance at competing if I can get an RB1 and RB2 through moving my picks?

Re: Rebuilding, Trade Best Player?
I'd move him if you can get an overpay. I wouldn't be targeting RBs though in a rebuild. I'd rather get two high end WRs or someone like Nuk and a 1st or two.

Re: Rebuilding, Trade Best Player?
First. Evans is a great piece to build around. But I understand you wanting to get more pieces. I would look at the mixon and cook owners. Have them add another wr and first. They would be cheaper vs Gordon or Howard. But if you could get the same from them, go for it. I just doubt it will happen.

Re: Rebuilding, Trade Best Player?
I value Evans higher than Fournette and Parker, so i'd try to focus on other players if I were you.
Bell and DJ don't make a lot of sense as targets for your team. You're rebuilding and will most likely wasted a year or two of their prime years, plus Bell hasn't signed longterm in Pitt yet too.
Evans still has plenty of youth. Tell your league he's on the block and give an idea of what you're looking for, but don't force it/get impatient. Even if Evans tears his acl on the first play, he'll still be worth a fortune.

I'd focus on a rebuild if I were you. Sure you could try to acquire 2 RB's, but you're really in need of depth across the board, so if you trade for 2 good RB's, you're going to weaken your other position groups

Re: Rebuilding, Trade Best Player?
In a basically 16 team league, I like your TE's. Definitely a strength. QB for ya is definitely a weakness though. Sure Watson could hit, but I don't feel super confident in him. IMO he's a nice dart throw, but I wouldn't want to rely on him for my future outlook. And WR with Evans is a strength. Without him, it would be a weakness. Again, you have some nice dart throws (Jones, Perriman, Juju) but success in a 16 team league requires a good amount of depth and I don't think you have it.JCDallas wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2017 4:45 pmI feel pretty good about my QB, WRs and my TEs long-term, in the but short-term, I could use multiple RBs and a QB..
Now, if you were a few pieces a way and could trade Evans to really complete your team, I'd see no problem with it, but I'd hold if I were you unless blown away by an offer.

Re: Team Direction
You're trading the wrong guy first. You only trade Evans when you know what your rebuilding needs are and what your timeline is. Otherwise, you might be trading for pieces or parts that don't end up helping you all the way.JCDallas wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2017 4:26 pm Roster: 32 Team .5 PPR, 2x Copies of Players, Depth like a 16 team League

First, you put any lesser player with any value on the block: Flacco (16-team league), Ingram, Hill, Allen, Perriman, any other WR, and Walker. You take what you can.
Once that is done, then you'll see where you are. If you got tons of picks, fine. Then moving Evans probably makes sense. If you got young upside players, then you might want to hold Evans to see if they hit.
Finally, you'll know your needs. If you got lots of young upside RBs, for instance, then going after, say, a Gurley with Evans is less of a priority.
In short, Evans is your singular big gun. Don't move him until you're absolutely sure that (a) you need to, and (b) you know what you need.

Re: Team Direction
I agree with the above poster and also want to say that typically when targetting a rebuild, you are trying to GET young elite upside wrs like Evans to build around. Imo it makes no sense to trade away a top 3 dynasty wr and be left with a bunch of random dart throws when rebuilding. Like another poster said, trade away your older players who have value for young players and picks.

Re: Team Direction
Build around Evans don't trade him. If I were you i'd look to move Keenan Allen, mine the WW, flip those WW players into picks, and build thru the draft. You're team is already pretty damn young and is far from a contender. glgl
