What are you guys paying for him in picks and where do you see him going in drafts ?

Is he even close to someone like Meredith or C.Coleman's value

Not paying much for him. he should be a late 3rd round rookie pick at earliest in any format.

I'm not buying too heavily. I think he's worth a mid-3rd rookie pick. I still think the Steelers add DeAngelo back to the roster and while Toussaint isn't great, I think he also may play ahead of Conner. With all that said, I think the Steelers get a long-term deal done with Bell.

I think it'd be "preference type of deal" when compared to Meredith. I think C Coleman is much more valuable at the moment.

He is a guy that I would like to stash since Bell's future is uncertain at this point. Should Bell leave in free agency then one would think he would slide into the starting position. In two drafts I was able to pick with a late second (I had to reach a little because I knew the Bell owner wanted him) and a mid-second (I owned Bell in this league so I was happy).

In the short term he doesn't carry the same value as Meredith of Coleman. Like I said at this point he is a draft and stash.

Sounds good thank you I think he is just getting over hyped because Bell has a injury suspension past but I think even if something happens to Bell he won't be a every down starter he wasn't that good in college maybe he will get just short yard carries if Bell goes down

Sounds about right. I don't understand the fascination owners have every single off season about obtaining backup RBs... Does no one learn from prior seasons that you don't buy these guys for anything but pennies?

I've seen him going around the mid third in standard. I really like him in deeper formats, he's a good long term bet imo.

For what it's worth, in a 12 team superflex start-up I completed about a month ago (ran from late May to late June, team 1 in my signature for starting requirements), Corey Coleman went at 6.02, Cameron Meredith at 9.01, and James Conner was down at 14.04, which I thought was early for him. Assuming I counted correctly, among rookies, Conner went 29th (to the Le'Veon Bell owner).

There is a marked difference between RBs drafted with the intention to take over the starting job (that doesn't mean out of the gate) and RBs drafted strictly as backups. DJ and Howard were drafted to be starters. Ajayi probably so as well as it seemed pretty clear Miami was not using Miller to the fullest extent. Conner is nothing more than a backup. He is in no way to the talent level of Bell that he is going to walk into a job if Bell leaves.

The Steelers invested a 3rd round pick in him which basically means they feel he may become a full time back should something happen to Bell. The problem is Deangelo Williams is still a free agent and could return to the team or Bell could re-sign with the Steelers basically making Connor a long term back up.

Does he have talent? Yes but he is stuck behind a top 3 running back, who yes has a problem with injuries and drugs on occasion. Like I said earlier if you can get him in the third that would be a solid pick. Basically his future is determined by what Bell does, and that is the bottom line on Connor.

I got him at the end of the third rd in my rookie draft (own Bell) and was happy with him there. I was not willing to reach at the end of the 2nd when I had a chance to.

I'm not giving anything more than a late 2nd, but more like an early 3rd. That's probably where he's going or should be going in rookie drafts. And like others have already said, not close to Meredith or CC.

Conner's value is so inflated because people think whoever replaces Bell in the starting lineup will put up similarish numbers. What they fail to realize is that has ONLY been the case with Deangelo Williams. Deangelo is a special talent in his own right and has had an amazing career.

Not only is Conner no L. Bell... he is no Deangelo Williams either.

Honestly I don't think he has that much talent I think they over reached for a hometown cancer winner feel good story because he wasn't that special in college
