DJ trade, interesting format

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

DJ trade, interesting format

Postby auggiedoggies » Sun Jul 23, 2017 4:22 pm

16 team IDP tiered PPR format. WRs get 1 PPR, RBs get .5 PPR. Obviously this favors WRs, but DJ was still the top scoring overall player last year at 24 PPG. Antonio brown put up 21 PPG. Additionally, you only have to start 1 RB, 2 WR, and can start 4 flex. Top LBs score 18-22 PPG, and we start 3-4 of them.

All that being said, I'm a contender. The trade offered to me is:

Give: DJ/Burfict/Meredith

Get:Cooper/Diggs

My other WRs are Jordy, AJG, Hilton, Pryor. My other rbs are Melvin and Lacy. My LBs are Kuechly, Kirksey, and Mosley.

Is it worth it to give up DJ and a top LB for the WRs?

The only reason I might say yes, do it (and I wouldn't do it), is Burfict has missed 22 games over the last 3 seasons.

DJ was the top scorer in your league and you have to add valuable pieces to downgrade to Cooper/Diggs? I probably wouldn't trade DJ straight up for those 2

I actually think this is kinda close. Id want a little more but I could see where DJ regresses and Cooper pickups the TD production and lives up to his lofty expectations. I think you could work something out

Makes no sense to me at all to give a LB away fo a downgrade to Cooper and a push at WR (Diggs to Meredith)

Fwiw, I haven't done the deal and likely won't. But the main reason I'm considering it is because I'm very high on Diggs. I think he's a massive upgrade over Meredith

I'm curious on what basis he can be considered a "massive upgrade". These are two receivers who have been equally productive and are both the number ones on their respective teams. And though I don't prescribe to some idea that a player has to fit a specific athletic profile or meet certain metrics, Meredith is also closer to what many consider an ideal size. It's been some time but I recall posting in a couple of topics that I viewed Meredith is essentially the 2016 version of Stefon Diggs.
