OBJ Trade

Postby spoony » Sat Jul 22, 2017 12:56 pm

Just got offered my OBJ for 1.02 and Michael Thomas. Thoughts? I'm currently in a rebuild in this orphan. Thanks!

Give: OBJ

Could you post your team? This is pretty close and it'd help to know stuff like starting requirements, # of teams, scoring, etc.

Without knowing that and knowing that you're in a rebuild, I lean Thomas and Fournette/Davis side.

Wait so you have OBJ or you're getting OBJ? The first post confuses me given the team here. If you're getting OBJ for it I would probably lean towards no since it looks like your RB slots are hurtin. I'm not a huge believer in Fournette but he is definitely going to get work. Would probably say take the Thomas/1.02 side.

Yeah it's confusing how you worded it. But I'm taking it you would be sending OBJ out and receiving Thomas and the 1.02? I don't think that's a bad deal for you since you're rebuilding. In a vacuum I prob lean OBJ, but not sure if you will receive a better package than that for what you are doing.

X2. I would do it, that would/could speed up the rebuilding process.

I would shop OBJ around. You might get someone who overpays and gives you an offer you really like, that's better than this one.

I think that's a solid offer for a rebuild, because yeah, that team is bad. Shopping OBJ around first is a good idea, but that's pretty much always true. If nothing else comes in that you like more, I would take it.

Truth! But with how much people seem to value OBJ, I would think that maybe you could squeeze another pick in there? Maybe a future 2nd rounder?

But then perhaps Michael Thomas really is commanding more value than I would have expected after a solid rookie year. Many will say OBJ is worth 3 1st's and this looks like 2.5 to me. I could be way off though...

The new Orleans saints whole offensive dynamic has changed now that cooks is gone. Lots of stuff up in the air, I expect a sophomore slump from Thomas now that he is going to be given immensely more attention from defenders. I would not trade OBJ for a guy that has had one good season and a rookie. You know OBJ has been slaying the league for 3 straight years. It is a big gamble I would not make.

Agree. I wouldn't gamble the number one dynasty asset for this return. I think the fact that you're in a rebuild is clouding judgement for some. Losing value doesn't make sense regardless of team situation. Plus if you're in a rebuild young studs should be who you're keeping.
