Gordon or Mixon +

Postby CooperCrush » Sat Jul 22, 2017 12:10 pm

So I have made a good amount of trades this off season and think my team in more competitive than it was. Was thinking of offering Gordon for Mixon and a 1st (should be early). Am I over valuing Mixon and should just stay put?

I would sell Melvin for Mixon and a random 1st. So getting an early 1st is pretty good.

I don't think many Mixon owners are going to be willing to give up a future 1st (particularly an early one) for Gordon.

Mixon + '18 2nd + a little IDP bump is what I recently paid for Melvin Gordon.

What's funny to me is that if you had asked this question in January, right after the season, everyone would have likely told you that was not near enough for Gordon. I don't dislike Mixon, but somehow he has taken on the role of fantasy superstar, and I think his value has been WAY inflated this offseason. The most lazy and overused argument that I think has led to this is the groupthink of "if it weren't for the off the field issues he would be the best RB in this class". that's selling Fournette and Cook way short, is their tape not just as impressive? Anyway, don't want to get going off on rant here...needless to say I don't value Mixon quite as high as some, so I'd keep Gordon. Or take the deal and reflip Mixon for a McCoy and another 1st type of deal, since he is in demand and prob easily tradeable for profit.

I like both a lot, but give me the side with the first.

I'd offer it and see what happens. If he bites and you get Mixon/1st I'd be happy with that return.

If not, I suppose you know that owner isn't buying into Gordon just yet. Very reasonable proposal, and not an undersell on Gordon IMO.
