Pick a Side to End a Debate

Postby Bucky15 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 8:52 pm

Just a debate between a buddy trying to assess value. In a vacuum who are you taking? Julio and the 1.5 or the 1.2, Devonta, Diggs, and Abdullah?

Currently the results are what I expected (4-3) so it's a pretty even trade and more of a preference. He thought it was way off and I disagreed.

Very close, but I'd give a slight edge to the Freeman side because it's younger and has the better pick.

I'd take the Julio Jones and 1.5 The pick is still a Top pick and has just as much potential as the 1.2 for this year. Any pick in the top 6 is interchangeable based on team needs and preference.

This is tough but I think I'd rather have Mixon/Davis, Freeman, Diggs, Abdullah over Julio and Cook/CMC/Williams.

I think the trade is even depending on what each team needs.

Very even. I'd rather own Julio than all the players on the other side. But the 1.02 is slightly more valuable than the 1.05.

In a vacuum I voted for the 1.02 side, but it's close, and I wouldn't blame the Julio side for not wanting to add anything.

Outside of the proverbial vacuum, I could easily see a scenario where I'd prefer the Julio side, based on what he can do with those two extra roster spots. If it allows him to hang onto a couple young upside prospects that he'd otherwise have to cut or allows him to snag a couple players like that off the wire, that'd be enough to sway me to the Julio side. Never underestimate the value of an open roster slot.

For me in a league with your starting requirements the depth of the freeman offer makes it the easy choice. Julio's health is a worry for me too.

Guess I'm in the minority on this one. But I much prefer the 1.2 Freeman/Diggs/Abdullah side.

Unless Julio starts scoring more TD's, I'd be happy with swapping him out for Diggs. Freeman is a very solid RB, and I'd prefer to have my selection of players at 1.2 as opposed to taking whomever falls to the 1.5. Abdullah is a big question mark, but worth a shot for 2017.

Perfectly good reasons for picking either side. Like I said the argument was that this trade was "horrible" and and not even close to fair from a value standpoint. I disagreed and thought it was very fair and almost an even "pick your preference" deal. Thanks all!

Julio side slightly

Diggs=1.5
1.2, Freeman, Abdullah who equals an early 2nd/late 1st. So 2 early 1sts and a 2nd is slightly light for Julio.

I'm fine with it either way but Julio is the best player so I lean that way
