Selling Keenan Allen...
Team #1 in sig.
Not a contender by any means. I know that. I got an offer out of the blue from someone wanting Keenan Allen. He offered a 2018 1st and Edelman for Keenan and a 2018 2nd. I snap accepted.
Just wanted the group feedback. Tough getting 1st's in this league so I was ok with losing him. Basically sat on my bench for 2 seasons along with Martavis. Now Both are back and I kept Martavis. Risk I guess but think the first makes up for it.
Loser or winner?

I don't think you needed to include rd 2, more like round 3 but still a good win for you. Allen is too hard to trust in a league full of talented wideouts.

I don't like it at all. A random 1st and Edelman...and you had to throw in a 2nd? Way too much in my opinion.
Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
This for me. You should've been able to get more for Keenan. You could've waited until he was on the field producing and then cashed out. In this trade, I think you are off by roughly another late 1st.

Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
Tough to predict where the first will fall but it should be a top 8 pick. I know it could be worse. I gave the 2nd because I already had three 2's. Does that change things a little bit? Now have a 1st and two 2nd's. Plus a productive Edelman in a PPR league.

If 1s are tough to come by, I like it. Every league is different. I agree tho that I'd be trying to move Edelman for a 1st if possible to a contender.

I'd be moving Edelman sooner rather than later if possible. I think Cooks will steal enough targets to drop him to mid to low end wr2 at best.
Just because something is hard to come by doesn't necessarily mean you need to overpay for it.
If 1sts are worth enough to give KA for a random one, you better not be using them to draft players. You need to go combine 2 of them and get someone like Amari Cooper. And if 2 1sts won't get Cooper then you need to stop selling players like KA for a single 1st(Edelman is worth about the 2nd you paid for him so I discounted him from the trade)

Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
No need for you to add the second imo.
Keenan is great when healthy but the Injury bug seems to have a hold on him.
Would have asked for a younger rb/wr over Edelman as his time is coming to a end.

I don't like it, but it's too late now. Should have kept the second or held Allen. Look to move Edelman, Decker, and Powell now for younger players with upside or picks. Maybe package them for another 1st if you can

Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
Piling on a little here, but I don't like it at all.
Keenan is arguably worth more than all but the earliest projected first next year (like 1.01 - 1.05 value). Some might even argue that he is more valuable than any projected first next year.
If you plan on flipping Edelman then get moving, but I feel like enough people are down on him this off-season that this may prove difficult.
This trade sounds to me like a very savy owner "dumping" an aging asset on you and then doing some snakeskin oil work to get you to include the 2nd because "hey, you have 3 of them....".
His random 1st (if he is a contender) and your 2nd (self-professed non contender) could end up being very close to each other.....

Jealous much? Of course you are.

A bunch of league settings you won't read anyways....numbers and such
QB - A guy with only one or two good years left in the tank
RB1 - A guy who stands charged with several minor crimes (Guilty until proven, right?)
RB2 - Young guy that is only good because of his offensive line and workload
WR1 - A guy whose metrics make up for his stone hands
WR2 - A dude who is probably too short to catch the ball
TE - This guy played basketball, right?
DEF & K - I guess we are still doing this .. ...

Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
clear loss IMO. If you waited till September you could have gotten much more! The reports are already coming out that keenan is looking good...now imagine in a month. The Keenan train will fire up soon. Keenan when healthy is a high WR2-low WR1. Call me crazy but i think he plays all 16 games this year...

Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
I agree with the others that you solid on the light side. Even with Allen being injured the past 2 years he's still worth more then that. hes one healthy season away from being a top 15 dynasty asset again. I think a closer deal would've been Edelman & a 2018-2 for Allen, but even then I wouldn't make that trade
Re: Selling Keenan Allen...
I understand you trying to acquire more 1st rounds picks to help build your team, but like others said I think now is not the time to sell Keenan unless you get a crazy good offer aka close to market value when he's been on the field. Edelman isn't a bad player but if you aren't a contender you just gave up someone who could be a piece of your core for a guy that is nearing the end. You got older instead of younger for a team trying to rise.
