Thoughts on my recent Superflex startup

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Thoughts on my recent Superflex startup

Postby jwint7910 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 6:12 am

Team 2 in my sig was drafted a few weeks ago and I have been a little conflicted in the results.
Our draft was an auction for the first 8 players and then snake after that to move things along. This is my first superflex and also probably the first for the majority of the rest of the league. I put a high priority on QB coming out with 4 of my first 8.

The first player put up was Rodgers and I got him for 32% of the budget. Then later in the draft but still before there was an established high end QB value I paid 29% for Carr. I stole Dak for 5% and Rivers for 2%. I finished off the top 8 with Mixon, Nuk, Bryant and Pryor.

I think i am by far the strongest at QB in the league with 2 close seconds (Ryan, Wilson, Bradford) and (Luck, Mariota, Bortles). Some teams are pretty barren (Dalton Garapollo), (only Brees), (Tyrod Palmer) (Manning Smith/Mahomes).

I've had several guys reach out for Carr and Dak, but I feel the offers are rediculiously low (18 and 19 first). I'm telling everyone you will figure out the value eventually.

So tell me, what do you think reasonable values are on my guys? How did I do?

You've got some very nice pieces. Sit tight and do not care sell low on any QB. If they are sitting there without a 2nd QB they should be willing to give up almost anything to grab one. Rodgers, Carr, Dak are all 1st and 2nd rounders in superflexes so you need a player that goes in the 1st/2nd rounds back to give one up and a 18 + 19 1st isn't close.

I like it a lot. Move Rivers if you have to, but hold the other QBs.

Thanks guys. Rivers is the one QB I put out to all of the needy teams in basically the same trade offer, Rivers for your 18 and 19 first. Maybe it is a little high, but I'm trying to establish values for the league. It didn't work during the draft but I figure eventually they will see it.

Also I didn't mention this before, but this is a PPR league with 1.5PPR for TE and 1/4 point per carry. These parameters have really pushed down the WR. Also it pushes the RB scores up near some of the QBs. I still decide to build around the QB since RB is so variable.

I love what you did there for the entire top 8, well done. Keep dangling Rivers out there when the season is underway. Definitely don't sell low now.

Until a good offer comes along sit tight. If you can move a player in the off season I'd hi I about it then, but right now two picks do you no good in season.

Nice haul. Rivers does nothing on your bench but get older and lose value this season. If the barren QBs don't give value now they will soon as they realize they screwed up. Move him to upgrade a RB or wr, kizer too. Too much value on your bench never going to play

That was my thought with Rivers, but I think he has 3 years left so I'm going to exercise as much patience as possible. I know I threw out 2 first's for rivers as a trade, but any other names that you think are good 1 for 1 trade targets? Or an 18 first and a player? I'm kinda addicted to first round picks. During the draft I was close to getting Snead plus a first for him.

With regard to Kiser, my though was to wait until he establishes himself as the locked in starter and flashes a decent game. Before then the owners in my league won't value him enough to move the needle on any trade.
