Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
First time posting. Been playing for almost twenty years so I'm a seasoned vet. 12 team league, 2 starting qbs. We are entering season 5. Two years ago Luck was hands down the #1 ranked dynasty QB. Some even had Cam there at one time(not me lol).
Needless to say, I was offered trades for Luck a few times in the last few years and always rejected. I viewed him as the clear #1 in dynasty, zero questions asked. We all know the o line woes and an aging Gore don't help his cause either. The injuries are also starting to pile up and this latest long recovery has me nervous.
I sent a few messages to QB needy teams thinking I could get the world for Luck! To my surprise The Andrew Luck market is dead! No-one will touch him! Granted, I was asking a kings ransom, but still, this is Andrew freakin' Luck right?
Trolls on forums years back always said Luck was over rated and a media darling and once you look past that he's considered good but not great or elite.
I disagreed with them then and I disagree now. But I am starting to worry. I want to get rid of him now if he's just going to be hurt all of the time. I also don't want to over react and deal him and then watch him return to superstardom.
I don't want to go into details on my roster incase my competition browses the board but lets just say my roster is stacked. But that doesn't mean I can or should make a bad trade or a trade just for the sake being bored over summer.
Thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
I wouldn't be selling Luck now. I'm not really too concerned, but if you are, wait until he has a few big games this season, and look to move him when his value will get you the return you're looking for. Right now, you'd be getting 50 cents on the dollar value wise.

Definitely would NOT be selling low on Luck right now. I don't like it. If he has a good year this year he jumps back into the top dynasty QB discussion.Brian wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2017 10:11 am I wouldn't be selling Luck now. Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
Leaving out his rookie season because I think any QB needs some time for a transition. On PPG:
2016: Ranked 5th among QBs
2015: missed half the season
2014: Ranked 1st among QBs
2013: Ranked 3rd among QBs
Do not let the lack of a trade market set the value. There are 3 QBs who pretty consistently show up with the same level of production - Rodgers, Brees and Brady. The latter two have a value that suffer due to their age.
Just hang on for the ride the next 8-10 years unless you can get the correct return for him.

If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
To tack on to what skip said...I had a similar discussion in a 2qb league I am in. One owner said luck sucked last year and I replied with, he was like 5th in QB scoring(in our format). He laughed and said no way and then looked it up. I think there was so much hype around Luck in his early years with taking his teams to the playoffs, and how he was so awesome. Last year the Colts were not good and he quietly scored in the top 6 of QB scoring. I think there is no reason why you SHOULD devalue him and in nearly any superflex/2qb format him and rodgers are largely the #1/#2 QBs

Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
I'd sell if you can get full price, but seems unlikely. I traded luck and lynch for Rodgers and a 18 2nd last week.

Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
Just hold if you're not getting any fair offers. As soon as Luck's shoulder is back to 100% and he is a top-5 fantasy QB this season, his trade value should bounce right back to the no. 1 dynasty QB again.

Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
1) Re: PPG -- whether he is 3rd, 5th, or 10th is somewhat irrelevant. The more relevant consideration is if his, say, #5 PPG finish is closer to the #1 player or the #10...
2) As noted, don't sell now. Put it this way: You've been higher on Luck than anyone else in your league. Now you're panicking but expected those not high on him before to still value him as highly as they did before?? Yeah, that doesn't work. If you -- the all-in-on-Luck-guy -- are losing faith, no way that your other leaguemates haven't lost faith either.

Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
I just stopped reading halfway and didn't read any of the other posts...don't trade Luck in a 2QB league unless you're getting a ransom!!
Re: Is it time to sell Andrew Luck or am I panicking?
As a Colts fan, I am more disappointed that we let him play so long on a bad shoulder. The fact that he was still a top 10 QB, speaks volumes about his ceiling. The line is actually going to be much improved this year. He is going to bounce back no problem and his injury history diminishes greatly for me because they did the surgery to fix it. Keep him
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
