Cooks + for A.J. Green

I am trying to acquire a stud WR to give me the paper championship. The guy is pretty stubborn though so I'm going to have to virtually overpay. Here is the latest offer I sent:

Cooks + Snead + future 2nd for Green

His latest counter is:

Cooks + Gronkowski for Green + Olsen

I declined the trade just because I think Gronk has a big advantage when healthy in this format. With that said, the format is pretty shallow though, so I am trying to consolidate and upgrade a starter. I can only start 2 RB's and should pretty much be riding Bell and Elliott for a few years, meaning I only need to start 3 WR's most weeks. I have Evans and Hilton locked in, but Green would be a nice addition over a guy like Cooks. I still have plenty of depth with Watkins, Parker, Perriman, etc.

So with the format, should I overpay and see if I add a guy like Parker or a 1st changes his mind? Or should I be content with Cooks/Watkins/Fitzgerald/Snead etc platooning my WR3 spot?

I know the counter he made would be an overpay, but I don't think it's that far off. Maybe try to meet somewhere in the middle and have him add a pick on his side.

I actually like the 2nd offer. Don't trust Gronks health or Cooks in a crowded WR core.

May be an overpay, but that counter offer will win you the title on paper. still own a top TE, plus green. and cooks is on a hype train.

I'd rather have Cooks over AJG straight up.
Downgrading form Gronk to Olsen (yeah it's a downgrade because of age and ceiling, yeah I know Gronk has an injury history, but still carries huge ADP value and trade value as well as more years left).
Snead is also a sneaky guy that could be a WR2 this year (at worst WR3 most likely).

AJG just doesn't do a ton for me for whatever reason and now they have added John Ross, Tyler Boyd, Eifert is back and healthy, Gio, JHill, and Mixon that can run and catch out of the backfield.

I'd hold if I was you...plenty of time to get a deal done. Maybe Nuk, AB, or someone like that would be moved for Cooks+

I would hold. The first offer was fine, but I wouldn't give much more than that.

Maybe Hilton instead of Cooks gets the first one done. I would rather have Cooks than Hilton, considering the questions about Luck's shoulder right now.

cooks is the gamble. i own him and im still not sure what to think. his young, very fast, actually when you look at his tape the man runs great routes dispite the saints using him for the deep ball most of the time. he catches well also. back to back 1000 yard seasons at 23 years old. with all that said i love green and as of today in win now mode i would take green. but if u factor in the age of cooks, the back to back 1000 plus yard seasons and the potential to take the next step in NE you could feel dumb in a year or 2 for giving up a guy like cooks for a aging green. o yea gronk over olsen this year and 5 years from now

I don't put much of a difference between AJG and Cooks. Cooks has put up two WR1 season in a row in PPR. Given his youth, I'd rather have him.
