DeMarco Murray value?

In a superflex league, what is the lowest pick you would accept for Murray? I have an owner who has submitted multiple offers for him, but they are usually include a pick in the first part of the 2nd round. I feel that is a little light, so I was wondering how high of a pick it would have to be for you guys to accept?

Top 3 pick for me. Until he shows he's going to fall off a cliff your asking price should be high.

I'd say you should be looking for a high-mid first from someone trying to acquire him. He's in the 1.04-1.07 range most likely.

He's still a RB1 every week. I traded two first rounders for him in 2013 and have reaped the benefits. I would need a first rounder and another piece.

In a salary cap league I bidded 20mil for him (15% of cap, so a moderately high number) and gave up the 2.05 for compensation and I was pumped. On the flip side of that, the previous owner would have rather has the cap space and 2.05. If I had to give up the 1.5 and still pay that cap number I would have as a contending team.

High first. He ain't no slouch, and I think the Henry creeping up on him thing is overblown. He'll be the bellcow this season again.

There are few things more certain than the age cliff for a bell cow back. I could see wanting a pick on the top 5 but I have a hard time believing anyone is paying that price. IMO, Derrick Henry is a more talented runner and will eat significantly into Murray's workload this season.

I'd want a high pick as well. We play to win the game. Who's more likely to win games for you? Demarco Murray or dalvin cook? Demarco or mike Williams? I get rebuilding and looking to the future, but you also have to play for now at some point (in my opinion you should every year) and demarco should be a solid contributor this year and possibly next.

What he's worth and what someone will pay for him require separate answers. And can include caveats. If I were contending I'd be willing to pay 1.04-1.05 for him. But I've never seen him go for anything more than 1.06. If I was rebuilding I wouldn't have any issues taking a 1st and 2nd round pick for him.

So while I'd want a mid-high first for him, I don't think you'll get that. The offer you received isn't bad, and if it doesn't do it for you, maybe look to trade him for youth instead of picks.

In a standard league I bought him for Greg Olsen and a 2017 3rd. The other owner needed a TE. There was a thread about it on this forum from the other owner, with most people telling him to jump ship on DeMarco and snag Olsen from me. I'll happily make that trade everyday, twice on Sunday. Olsen is a steady TE, but after owning him for 3 seasons, I can say he has never won me a week.

To me Murray is worth a mid-first to a contender. To a rebuilding franchise, he isnt worth anything in my opinion, since he probably makes a rebuilding team just good enough to miss out on a top 3 pick.
