Trade for 1.04

Owner for 1.04 just sent me an offer for his pick. Given I just took this team over about two months ago and his team doesn't look very pretty, I'm in rebuild mode for this team for this current year. I would like to decline his offer but a few peers I have spoke to have disagreed with my thought process. I just believe the 2018 1st makes it too much for me and I want a 2nd in return instead of the 3rd.

I have pick 1.02 already so I plan on taking either Davis or Mixon ( probably Mixon). Although, if I had both picks That leaves me with talented youth at both RB spots and Wr as I would take the other player at 1.04 so I see the plus side to this. I guess I'm just a hoping that Martavis breaks out this year as to why I'm holding off. Do you guys think that I'm missing something or am I thinking straight by wanting to decline this?

Note - The owner of 1.03 has a man crush for McCaffrey so it's 99.9% confirmed he will be selecting him with that pick.

I don't know how you can think the pick will be mid to late. Anything can happen and starting 9 offensive players...I don't like your team...at least pre draft. Davis will not help your team this year. They are a run heavy team with Decker, Mathews, and Walker there so no need to rush him on to the field to help fantasy wise...again this year. My point is the pick could very well be lower. That being said. I think it is fair, and would take it assuming you can get mixon and Davis out of it. Just don't be upset if you gave away a top 3 pick.

In a normal situation I'd say no way. But since the 1.01 is Fournette, you are planning to overdraft Mixon and the 1.03 is going to be McC, I'd say yes. I think the mix of stuff you're giving up is a good value for Corey Davis who IMO is arguably the 1.01.

As a side note: I think this is a trade you do and then never look back. There's a decent chance Bryant returns to form (until he gets popped again) and your pick turns out better than you plan. But Davis is a solid prospect and likely won't be able to be had for these prices again.

That was a projection based merely off of the guy's current roster. His team is pretty loaded this year and just got killed by injuries last year ( still made it the championship). He traded for the 1.04 a few weeks back. And trust me, I don't like this team either.. lol.. hence why I am trying to turn this team around with what I have. If I didn't have a love for fantasy like I do, I probably would've passed on this team as the other league members said this team was arguably the best team on paper last year and the owner got rid of everyone and just left the league.

As a general rule, when rebuilding, you want to collect as many possible assets with upside as you can. M Bryant? Check. Dixon? Check. 2018 1st? Check. No way that you should trade that for ONE player with upside... This would be a backwards step and a dangerously costly step if the 1.04 player doesn't develop into a top-10 RB or top-15 WR.

Easy, easy pass, IMO.

What makes you think that 2018 pick will be mid/late. No offense, but outside of Zeke, I don't really see anyone else on that roster that will help you be competitive this year (unless the pick belongs to another team). I don't think it's a huge overpay, but not sure it makes too much sense for your team. I'm also not a big fan of Martavis and Dixon, so I wouldn't mind you for getting rid of them. If I'm wrong about the 18 1st and it actually is mid/late, I would make the trade.

This has nothing to do with your original Question, but talk to this owner and say you are thinking of taking CMC at #2 and see if you can trade down get a little extra

Ever since I acquired 1.02, I told him for weeks I was taking Mcaffrey to get him to budge but he never did. He's okay with either Mixon or CMC but preferred Mcaffrey as a fan pick.

It is a different owner's 1st that I will be getting rid of. I am keeping my 1st still. This is a mere guess at this point but his team made the championship last year even with 3 guys injured. His team is pretty good from top-bottom so its more of a most likely scenario but I agree with it being tough to predict this early. He traded for 1.03 and still has arguably the best team in the league on paper.

Easy pass for me, as I value Martavis Bryant around the 1.05.
