2018 2nd round pick vs Rob Kelley

Postby Pantherbro13 » Wed Jun 28, 2017 7:51 am

Got offered a 2018 2nd rounder straight up for Kelley. I have been trying to move him for a first but have received offers for a third on counters. This is the heftiest offer I have received for Kelley all offseason. I like the news I've heard coming from Kelley's camps regarding his offseason but don't have any plans to actually use him. Looking at my roster would you rather hold onto Kelley into the season and turn it into a first after some good performances or take the 2018 2nd rounder and run? This will likely be pick 2.1-2.3 that I'd be receiving in 2018.

I think Kelley will be more of a factor than many think but an early 2nd seems like a good deal. With them drafting perine, it could say a little about what they think of Kelley long term

I agree on Kelley being more of a factor than people on here think. He's under contract through 2018 so he could serve as starter for two more seasons. Tricky scenario as I think there's a case for both sides with this trade.

If you think it will be that high, I'd take the pick. Even though I think Kelley is a undervalued by some on here.

Agree with this. Kelley's range of outcomes is really broad right now. He could be a solid RB2 all year, or he could be waiver fodder. Unless I own Perine to mitigate that risk, I'll gladly take a high 2nd and an open roster spot.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

Given your team and the draft picks you have, I would take the trade.

You will be picking up at least 1 RB with your 1st round picks, plus with the ones you have, Kelley will not see starting time much (if at all).

g'luck!
THE PYRATES. Terrorizing this league since 2006 - Playoffs (06,07,10,11,13-16,18, 19)
4 Division titles, 5 Superbowls (2006, 2013-2016), 2013 CCFL Champions

QB: D.Watson, T.Bridgewater, C.Newton, AJ.McCarron, J.Hurts-R
RB: D.Henry, K.Drake, A.Dillon-R, D.Evans-R, R.Armstead, D.Lewis, F.Gore, B.Hill, D.Williams, D.Dallas-R,
WR: M.Evans, J.Smith-Schuster, C.Ridley, C.Kirk
TE: T.Kelce, C.Herndon
K: M.Gay, M.Prater
DEF Texans, Seahawks

14-team, 2 division, non-ppr with salary caps. Starts 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, K, DST
Pillage FIRST! THEN burn. Doing it the other way around is pointless.

I plan on taking CMC and Mixon with atleast two of my first round picks, assuming LF goes 1. May even land Cook at 1.6 if he slips past 1.5.

This exactly. The early second is worth Kelley, but that open roster spot shouldn't be discounted. Even if you don't see anyone right now that you want to pick up, there is bound to be one in preseason, and now you don't have to drop anyone to do so.
