RBs people are low on we should buy

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

RBs people are low on we should buy

Postby BigBawseRoss » Wed Jun 28, 2017 6:39 am

Owners I wanted to start a thread to see what specific running backs that you own that you have soured on, tired of waiting to hit, ready to move, etc. I think this will help owners like me see who to target while looking for a rb at a cheap price but we may see a lot of upside. I would think there has to be a Kevin White of the running back world and I wanna find out who they are! I think Lacy and Abdullah would be prime candidates but what say you?

I don't think people are low on Abdullah, its known the Lions want this guy to work, they didn't draft a RB for a reason.

But, I think RB's that people are low on are

Forte- looking for a one year stop gap, this might be a guy to target, Jets already want to make him a work horse, who knows how long he will last but I think hes worth the gamble.

Devontae Booker - 3RBs in Denver, didn't really show up last year, might be a good hold/wait and see.

Terrance West - first 4 games he only has to compete with Woodhead.

Blount - maybe something left in the tank?

Doug Martin - Contract year, suspended 4 games.

Outside that, I don't see many other guys flying under the radar.

I like the names listed so far. I'll add some more. Kenneth Dixon with his suspension and inability to completely take over the backfield from West last year as well as the addition of Woodhead is a good buy imo. He started getting more and more work towards the end of last season and he's a good bet to take over the work in the backfield towards the end of this year and going into next year.

Players like Ingram, Ware, Yeldon and Gore could be a good buys for the right price.

Gurley might be a good one too. There might be some nervous owners.

I own Gurley in all three of my leagues. I get 5x more low ball offers for him than any other player. Makes me think that any Gurley owner who was considering selling him, probably already did.

The White/Abdullah parallel is interesting. Both have proven to be oft injured, but White's ADP has fallen far below Abdullah. Time to buy White?

There's no injury causing the discount, but how about Jalen Richard OAK?

Solid topic. Three RB's I own have been mentioned in Lacy, Abdullah and Latavius. I like them all(hence why I own them lol), but I think there is much more legitimate reason to be nervous about Abdullah and Latavius than Lacy, as I think he's going to slot right into Beast Mode's role quite easily.

Abdullah has failed to produce in his first two seasons, BUT if you share the same sentiments as I do, you know that he has some serious skills. Therefore, if you can grab him on the cheaper side, he's a guy that I think can pay major dividends for sure.

Latavius is slightly different in that he produced 1000 yards and 12 TD's last year, so the production is there. However, he's in a new spot, one that I know has people balking at, AND his biggest hurdle is obviously competing with Dalvin Cook. Although I'm definitely not pleased with where his value is now, as opposed to where it was last year, I think that makes him one helluva buy low. People are dubbing Dalvin Cook as the one to own in Minny, etc. While I agree, and that is probably true, Latavius was EXCELLENT in pass pro for OAK, and I would not be shocked in the slightest if he comes in and runs away with the job in camp. I like Dalvin a lot too, and I'm sure he will have a great career, but it might take him a year or two to find his rhythm. I'd be buying Latavius at his current price tag of roughly nothing lol. And also don't forget they are paying Latavius starter money, so I HIGHLY DOUBT that they are going to phase him out of their offense in the first year of his contract. Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't seem to make much sense.

Also, while re-reading earlier posts, I also own Dougie fresh who was mentioned. To me, he is probably the best value of any of them if you can get him on the cheap side. There's always been something special about Dougie IMHO. His rookie year was just bananas, and he looked every bit as advertised as the "muscle hamster." Being in education, and knowing the effects of adderall on people, I'm willing to bet that Dougie's body is ready to absolutely EXPLODE now that he is off of it, and clean. Although adderall is considered a performance enhancing drug, the body becomes a shell of it's former self physically when taken over longer periods of time. It has a major impact on your eating habits, sleeping patterns, workout routines, etc. Now that he's clean, as long as he does indeed hold up and stay healthy, I'm betting on him big time. If you can grab him for a discount, I recommend it.

Anywho, I could easily be wrong about all of this hahah, but those are my opinions on a few solid buy low candidates that I own.

Danny Woodhead should carve out a role as a pass catcher in BAL while Dixon is suspended.

I also think Zenner is someone you could get for free. The team likes him, and that's enough for me.

Sproles should continue to be the 3rd down back and command dump off passes

Devonte Booker and Deandre Washington are two favorites as well.

Paul Perkins anyone?? I'm pretty high on him this year but his ADP doesn't appear to reflect my confidence. I would think he could be acquired on the cheap.

this thread rules you guys are all awesome and I love all the input. duke Johnson for the low anyone? McFadden as elliots handcuff? JStew for freebies?

I think perkins owners know they have a potential every week starter who they didn't pay much for so they are holding tight...at least I am in one league

Ya know what? I'm going to throw another name out there with all the love directed towards P Perkins right now. How about Orleans Darkwa? He's a guy who I'm suspecting is on almost everyone's wire, so can be acquired for free. However, could very well be in for a sizable role in a timeshare with Perkins, with room for more if Perkins does struggle or get hurt, etc.

Just a word to the wise for anyone hoping Perkins can be the next big thing. Believe me, I hope that's the case, as I'm a Giant Giant fan( ), but I would probably guess that NYG are going to roll out a pretty significantly balanced timeshare, as they have done over the last decade lol.
