Which side ya got??

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side ya got??

Postby RGKID144 » Wed Jun 28, 2017 5:27 am

Hi all, just having some thoughts out loud, so I figure I'd ask the dynasty community lol. My league just had our rookie draft this past Sunday, and a buddy of mine pretty much raked. We both had extensive picks and did a great job. I'm pretty sure he came away with the more valuable haul, but he also had two top five picks, and I didn't even have a first rounder. I'm just curious to know which side people take here and by how much, thanks!! P.S. Both of our teams are at different points in terms of contending, so this all makes sense in terms of how our teams are built, etc. I'm really just curious to see how much you guys prefer which side, and why, etc. This could be a landslide, just want some feedback.

Side A:
1. Joe Mixon
2. Christian McCaffrey
3. Mitch Trubisky
4. OJ Howard
5. Alvin Kamara
6. JuJu Smith Shuster
7. Adam Thielen

Side B:
1. David Njoku
2. Evan Engram
3. Marshawn Lynch
4. Kenny Golladay
5. Curtis Samuel
6. Jeremy Mcnichols
7. Jack Doyle

Let's hear em!

Side A got a haul, but B did really well for a team without a 1st.

I prefer side A by quite a bit personally when comparing, but side b in a vacuum without a first is not a bad haul either.

Team A- got the best 2, maybe 3, players. Like what team B did, assume they were RB needy

Haha, yeah if you haven't already guessed, I am team B. So, if you're interested in seeing the bigger picture, my team is in my sig.

Likewise, my team is the one that got the B side, so my team is in sig. Hopefully, that paints the whole picture.

What's funny is that I didn't REALLY feel that I needed a RB, but most people were telling me how they weren't huge fans of my RB corps. I decided that regardless, Marshawn was going to be a huge upgrade to my lineup, so I went hard for him.

Like others said, side A obviously got the much better players, but you did well for not having a 1st...good value picks.

Cool, thanks. Appreciate the input!

For anyone curious where each of our picks were, they fell as follows:

A: 1.3/1.4/1.9/2.3/3.3/3.4/4.3/4.8(which he traded for specifically to scoop Thielen, who was a FA in our league).
- Also, note that I forgot to mention James Conner as one of his draft picks. Completely forgot about him.

B: 2.4/2.5/2.7/2.9/2.10/3.7/4.7

All input is welcome! Also, if anyone is interested, I posted the whole draft in another thread, but can copy and paste if need be.

With this being a 2 QB league I see side A getting the 4 best players maybe even 5 between the 2 just depends on where you see Kamara.

Mixon
CMC (low on this guy)
Howard
Trubisky
Kamara

I have all of these guys higher than any of the guys side B took.
plus, I LOVE the value on Thielen with a 4th??

Without reading every response I'm pretty sure I'm with everyone, side A easily, side B very nice work still. Looking at your roster it works out perfect for you. And with adding the tes to Eifert you have some trade bait if the rookies break out.

I thought so as well. Being that it's a 2QB league, all three of Watson, Mahomes and Trubisky went before both Njoku and Engram. Additionally, although OJ probably has the most value of the three due to landing spot and was taken several spots higher, I think they all have extremely high ceilings. Any of the three could end up having a better career than the others. Njoku is just a FREAK lol, so I was ecstatic to land him where I did.

Haha, yeah agreed that Thielen was a STEAL! I thought my Jack Doyle pick was in a similar realm also. Both could have pretty significant value this year. In regards to Kamara, I guess the best way to share my thoughts on him are to re-iterate that I actually passed on him five times in the second round lol. Not my cup of tea. In any event, team A did indeed do a really good job with his three first rounders, etc. I'll also add that he was extremely giddy when Trubisky lasted to him because he owns Glennon also.

Yup, my thoughts exactly. Although I acquired 2.4/2.5 with the goal of landing Njoku/Beast Mode, my draft strategy was mostly BPA. Adding both Njoku and Engram was not something I planned one either, as I never thought for one second Engram would fall to me, so when he did I immediately thought he was a steal value wise. Even if I end up trading one or both down the line in a year or two, it will have been worth it. Landing Doyle was just big because it gave me someone to backup Eifert this year in case of injury. Truth be told, the more positives I'm hearing about Doyle every day makes me think he could end up playing a huge role for me this year.

I'm going to throw a curveball here and add in a Team C lol. Here are Team C's picks, along with who he drafted, etc.

Team C:
1.1- Corey Davis
1.6- Deshaun Watson
2.1- Zay Jones
3.5- Dont'a Foreman
4.1- Marlon Mack
4.2- Donnell Pumphrey

So, what do you guys think of Team C's haul? He finished in last place, as you can see he picked from the one hole. And how do you think he did in relation to Team A and Team B?

All input is welcomed, thanks!

I would have gone with Mixon at 1.01, but Davis wasn't a bad pick. I also think Watson is a bit of a reach at 1.06 even in a SF/2Qb league. Jones I'm guessing went ahead of Howard and the other TEs, so I don't like that pick as well. Foreman and Mack are great value picks that late the draft. Not sure about the Pumphrey pick, but I'm guessing he went before Thielen, so I don't like that pick as well.
