My WR situation

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

My WR situation

Postby keebs3 » Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:57 pm

Decker seems to be my only solid start at this point. I have a lot of young WR talent, so it might come around in a few years. However, I'm in this to compete every year. Decker landed in a good spot so he'll have to be my WR1. Who should I start after him? Tyrell Williams or Shepard are my top options- I have a few rookies that could come through for me... What would you do with this group? Are there any trades you see I could offer?

In a 10 team league, your team won't be close to competing without some studs, which you lack at every position. I wouldn't be looking to compete with that team. I would sell Cam, Crowell, AP, Ingram, Coleman, Decker, Walker and look to acquire future picks and get that rebuild going.

I think that Doctson will very quickly be in consideration to start every week. Perriman could be a good play too. Luckily you can go through training camps to see where these WRs will land on their own teams.

Like the previous owner stated, I would look to move some of those older guys who have some value now (especially Decker/AP) while there is some good buzz going. Starting Both AP, and Ingram on the same team is a tough spot to be in every week. I like the fact that you have built your team with young guys full of potential, but there needs to be someone you can bank on to get points week in, week out. Pairing Cam with a RB or WR to a QB weak team would be my first target. Good luck

I know you want to compete but think your better off rebuiling you got some good young wr hopefully 2 or 3 will step up either this year but more then likely next year takes most wr 2 to 3 years to start becoming good nfl wr I agree try to trade ap decker newton get picks next year or other young players think this would be your best option with your team

No way you compete with that team. In a 10 team league and you own absolutely no studs at WR, two RBs from the same team (one aging) and your starting TE may be the TE2 on the team this year. Your only good pieces are Crow, and I guess Cam however I'm not huge on Cam. Sell Cam AP Crowel Ingram Williams Decker and rebuild. This is not a contending team, especially in a 10 teamer

Yeah I'm all for competing every single year. Make playoffs and who knows...
That said, there is a pretty damn high likelihood of missing playoffs with that squad, and the chances only get slimmer with those aging assets. This is one of those instances where I would sell for picks. '18 is supposed to be loaded anyways

Thanks all- and I get it. The problem is all the other teams won't buy old players. I can't even get a 2018 3rd for AP. No one wants Decker or Walker. I did start my rebuild last season- I had several early picks that I turned into Williams, Howard, Njoku, and Kamara.
I owned Big Ben last year and got Cam- I won't be able to move him either.

So, unless I very much overpay I'm stuck with this team. I have to start the best players I can because our draft picks are based on total points- not just who I start. With that said- who is my WR 2 on the current team?

Now isn't the best time to sell aging players. You might be able to get a decent return for them once the season is under way and injuries begin to occur. Patience is your best friend right now.

Wait until rookie fever dies down and players start to get injured. You'll find a lot more interest in Decker and AP once a contender loses his RB or WR 2. No need to jump the gun and overpay.

Yeah- His name was Adrian Peterson. I took the team over last year- I also had Foster before he decided to retire... I guess there is a reason the last owner took off. I did also have AJG but traded him for Doctson and a bunch of picks.. hints my young WR depth.
