Startup trade question

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which would you prefer in a start up?

Startup trade question

Postby claypigeon49 » Tue Jun 27, 2017 12:05 pm

Managed to post this in the wrong forum, so I'm trying again. Apologies mods if I should have waited to have the other post deleted or moved. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew I was a rookie... :?

I'm facing a trade dilemma in a startup draft. It's a 10 team, 1/2 PPR league starting 2qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1 flex, and a team defense.

I am in the 2nd pick of a snake draft. The team in the 9th spot is offering his 1st and 3rd for my 1st and 8th. I requested his 1st and 2nd for my 1st, 8th, and 10th, but he is still holding firm.

I like the value of swapping the 3rd and 8th round picks for moving back 7 slots, but that will probably drop me out of contention for the elite players at WR, QB, and RB. Should I hold firm on my counter offer, or should I try to sweeten his offer of 3rd/8th with a 2018 1st (probably mid to late)?

First time doing a dynasty draft, so I could use the help. I've been lurking in this forum for the past few months, but this is my first post. Thanks!

So you currently have pick #s: 2, 19, 22 and 39
After the trade you would have: 9, 19, 22, 29 and 39 ... but be missing your 8th rounder.

Since it is a 2QB league, I'd take that trade. You aren't in a league with just 2 top positions (RB and WR), there are far more top players available in 2QB leagues.

I would trade back for the extra pick.

I'm taking multiple picks in the top of the draft over the second. Check out this site to help with trades in dynasty, a helpful tool.

I'd take the trade as well. You can try countering with either of the ones you mentioned, but if it gets declined, I'd probably take the initial offer. Also, I'd take a QB with your first two picks.

Counter with his 1st 3rd and 2018 1st rounder for your 1st and 8th. Definitely a solid trade but make him throw in a 1st to move back.
