This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Blockbuster Superflex ARob Trade!

Postby harveyd » Tue Jun 27, 2017 8:32 am

Hey guys, this question is for my superflex league with team details below. I'm trying to shore up my QB depth by upgrading from bradford to dalton. I'm in talks right now with this guy in my league for the following trade:

Give:
Sam Bradford
Allen Robinson

Get:
Andy Dalton
AJ McCarron
Rob Gronkowski

How do you guys feel about this trade? Is the value downgrade from Arob to Gronk worth the QB difference? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'd do it. I think the upgrade to Dalton over Bradford who may only start one more season is well worth it. Gronk when healthy is a game changer and would be willing to swap him and ARob with your WR's.

Hate it.

You already have 2 better fantasy qbs than dalton, and maybe bortles and dalton are equal but he's still only your spot starter at the cost of your youngest stud WR. I'm very low on Gronk for a long term asset as well. I can see how this is a good trade I just wouldn't do it.

I don't think it's worth losing Arob to upgrade your QB3 position.

Thanks for the responses guys, appreciate the feedback. Another option we're entertaining is for me to sub Crowder in for Arob and he drop Gronk on his side. Would this be any better?

Also just to add to why I like Dalton - job security. If bortles has another down year, he could be out of a job next year. Bradford is only signed through next year and he has Teddy nipping at his heels. Meanwhile, Dalton already has his long term contract signed and his starting gig is pretty much guaranteed for the next few years. Let me know if you think I'm overrating this aspect.

I like that other offer much better, but I'd still try to get him to add something else on top.

You don't need Gronk. I'd keep ARob. Something like Bradford, Crowder for Dalton, 2nd would be good imo. Or if you could sub Lockett for Crowder and drop the 2nd, I'd do that too.

I wouldn't trade ARob. I don't think that Dalton is a huge upgrade over Bradford. I do really like the Gronk upgrade, but as a Gronk owner I'm always nervous about his health. I'd pass for now.

I don't mind the Crowder trade. I'd see if I can get a bit more though because I think he's one of those guys that's always going to be worth more to the team he's on than his trade value. Classic "high floor low ceiling" guy you want as a WR3-4 or bye week/injury fill in.

Crowder trade is nice.
