1.2 for 1.4 and a 2nd?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.2 for 1.4 and a 2nd?

Postby SoShady » Tue Jun 27, 2017 8:29 am

Going back to our start up draft I traded for the 1.1 pick in this years rookie draft. I ended up moving the pick for A Robinson and the 1.4 pick a few weeks ago. Now we have a new owner in the league who sent me this offer. I had pretty much decided I was staying at 1.4 and taking a RB. But now I can move back up and get C Davis as we know LF is the first pick of the draft. I know everyone was all in on C Davis when I still had the 1.1 pick. I'm not as sold on him as the majority of the community. So is it crazy for wanting to pass this up and just take one of Mixon or CMC at 4? The 2nd round pick is the 18th overall pick. Would you rather have say CMC and M Williams or C Davis and OJ Howard or M Williams? I don't like any RB pick at 1.7.

I'd stay put and take Mixon or Cook. If you're really sold on Davis, it's not a terrible deal, but who knows, he may even fall to you at 1.04.

I am not sold on Davis either, but the price seems right to move up. Worst comes to worst and you aren't thrilled with Davis at 1.2 then you are in the drivers seat to get your choice of which RB you want and all it costs you is a pick that doesn't thrill me in the 2nd.

Depends on what you think about Davis of course. And by the sound of it you're not too high on him. So why give up anything to move up and get him? I'd do it, but I'd also be happy to stick with 1.04 and pick up Mixon.

Goddard one more thing I forgot to mention. He owns the 2nd and 3rd picks. So if he's okay with giving up the first of his two picks maybe he doesn't really want C Davis at 1.2? Only worry would be another team jumping up as the value isn't all that bad.

I wouldn't blame you for doing it if you want Davis and don't want to risk someone else taking him. You already got the 1.04 for free when you traded the 1.01 for Arob and 1.04 lol.

Okay I decided to take the trade which had a few more dominos fall. The guy who owns the 1.1 pick just traded for the 1.3 pick. So the guy moved back from 1.2 to 1.4 and moved the 1.3 for 1.9 this year and a 2018 1st. It seems like he doesn't have much interest in this years draft. Do I try throwing my 2018 1st his way for the 1.04 pick? I know the guy who got the 1.3 pick is RB despite. So do I try to get something out of him and drop back a pick and still get C Davis? Or is this getting to cute lol.

So for your first question...how late is that 2018 1 projected in your opinion? If it is mid and you can get 1.4 for it then obviously do that. To your second question, if you can swap 2 for 3 and get something better than pick 18 (basically what you gave up to move up from 1.4) then yes do that, but otherwise don't.

I sent him the offer and he rejected it. He wants a pick this year and a player or another pick in the 2018 draft for 1.4. I figure that would have to be my 1.7 pick if i'm going to pull it off. Does it make sense giving up 1.7 and a player or say a 2018 2nd or 3rd for 1.4? Or should I push to hold the 7th pick and offer a player like Parker instead? To answer your questions I feel like I have a strong roster. I won the league last year and see no reason that pick should be any better than 9-12. The owner of the 3rd pick owns the 22nd overall pick in the 2nd round.
