Cooper for Coleman +

Postby CooperCrush » Tue Jun 27, 2017 4:40 am

Been going back and forth with the cooper owner and we are close. I think it is a lot to give up, but will give me the elite WR I am missing. He wanted me to add procise too, which I said was too much. Thoughts?

I think this is probably about right. If we look at the values of these players you are essentially giving 3 1s and a 2nd for cooper. I wouldn't add more to it to be honest. While you like Cooper as an Elite WR1, I think he is good but I would not put him in the Elite category.

I'm 50/50- I'm not as high on Cooper as most, but think he could explode this year, that seems to be the asking price, just not sure if Cooper is the way to go for you or trying to get a couple guys a tier lower would be better, maybe getting Arob/jordy/keenan who should be cheaper

the only reason I would say no for you is because that team doesn't look ready to compete and trading away to firsts (one i'm assuming is yours and should be a earlier first) could be detrimental. your team is young and I wouldn't write of Treadwell just yet. for those reasons and hold tight

Thanks for the responses so far! The 1sts are not mine, which is my motivation to improve team this year.I have also tried for the other WR's mentioned and no one is selling. the Davis owner wanted Hill and both 1sts.

Too much to give up for a rebuilding team IMO. While the two firsts are not yours (as you said) they are your only first round picks next season and the deal offered is a win-now offer. I'd give up 2 firsts if it put me over the top to compete but from looking at your roster i'd rather keep the picks and continue building. You've got some nice young pieces and those 2 picks next year could really help you.
Team 1 - 12 Team Half PPR
Start 1 QB, 2-4 RB, 3-5 WR, 1-3 TE, 1 D/ST

Team 2 - 12 Team Half PPR
Start 1 QB, 2-3 RB, 3-4 WR, 1-2 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K
Total Starters = 10

I like Cooper plenty and he has a safe floor but I also really like Coleman and believe he has as much potential even if his floor may not be as high. All of the rest of the pieces are just too much.

I like cooper...but that is way to much to give up. you will need those firsts to help your team. you aren't competing this year w Cooper...so I would hold onto coleman and the firsts....

not a treadwell fan...so if you can get a 6 pack for him take it and toast the other owner.....and since you have Diggs makes no sense to have him.

Agree with Skip, and want to add:
You are paying a very high price for a receiver that hasn't hit elite status yet. Yes, many people expect it to happen this year but it has not happened yet. It looks to me as though you are being asked to pay Cooper's 2018 value assuming he has already ascended to the top tier.

A lot of things can happen to derail expectations, just look at the pieces your are being asked to trade away as an example.

Initially I'd take Cooper, but with your current roster situation I would hold.

Perfectly stated. As a Raider fan and Cooper owner I expect/hope he takes that next big leap forward. He is not yet elite, but could change that this season.

I think it's a slight overpay, but I also think it will be worth it. Maybe try to get the Cooper side to add something small.

I think this is a big overpay. However, I see Cooper's ceiling as a potential long term back end WR1 / high end WR2. There are a handful of other guys you could grab for cheaper that should produce near what Cooper is expected to. The only player I could realistically see myself paying this price for would be OBJ

I'd keep the pieces for your team. That's too much to pay for a WR that has yet to have an elite season.

Exactly my thinking. Giving up on two second year wrs along with two firsts. Cooper is a huge upgrade but it will really hurt your overall depth in a few years. Having two firsts also allows you flexibility to move up in the first. Also if Treadwell and Coleman both reach their potential then add two firsts next season and your team will be set up for several years. I'd pass.
